This is a simple iPad reader for the United States Federal Register. Built to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the GPO, the app went from concept to execution in less then 6 weeks. The app leverages public information feeds provided by Data.gov.
Intended as a proof of concept for rapid mobile application development, it was created by the University of Central Florida's Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) and mobile developers, Allogy Interactive, and Mobilegov to leverage public information feeds provided by data.gov.

What's New in Version 1.0.1
Fixed multitasking issue where the current day's Register wouldn't appear if the app is already loaded in the background with the previous day's Register
I think the concept is great-- getting more widespread public access to government documents is vital. I would love to see access to previous issues and the ability to export reports/notices as PDFs or some other format. So, more please!
Looks great; very limited
Great presentation. However, it only displays the current day's Federal Register. As much fun as the Fed Reg is as a daily read, it's only really helpful if you can access earlier publications. Search by cite, at the very least, would make this a much more useful app.
Excellent start - I'd have the full articles presented as organized in the print edition ... Only allow the user to pick font and font size
