What's New in Version 7.0
It just got easier to manage your shipments with the FedEx® Mobile app.
- Simplified tracking number entry
- Improved menu navigation
- New design
I downloaded this application couple days ago because i need to track one of my very important package. I expect the fedex app could be handy when it comes to helping you track down the package, however thats not the case. There are no option for notifying status update, no maps that help tracking, and the most annoying thing is, the interface is in English, but the tracking information somehow show up as "simplify" Chinese?! I understand that it might be because I have my phone setup as displaying "Traditional" Chinese, however, they display the wrong language(accordingly to my phone) and multiple languages at once really annoys me.
So, an optional status update through the app, tracking map, and an optional language selection for UI and information display will be useful for next update.
No alerting when a package is out for delivery? Seriously?
I just missed a package delivery. When I pulled up this app, it confirmed that delivery was attempted but failed due to signature required.
I would have stayed home had I know it was coming. What's the point of a mobile app that won't send me push notifications for significant events?
The authors of this app really need to step back and figure out who they wrote this app for (hopefully it's "the customers") and what's most important to them (hint: delivery and tracking updates).
This app should alert me when significant events occur like new shipments created, delivery status changes, exceptions, etc.
UI is pretty but confusing and not very well thought-out. Why do the + button in the lower right corner and the menu button in the top right corner pull up the exact same dialog? It's redundant and confusing.
The app also lacks basic features like barcode scanning a label to add shipments. This is simple and obvious enhancement.
The app also lacks the ability to CREATE a shipment. Why not create a shipment on the app and print the label using Office Cloud Print? Or just drop the shipment at any Office location, where they can label it for you? Or print directly from iOS using AirPrint, etc?
Come on guys, this is basic stuff. Step it up!
