Modern look and feel but still lacks critical elements

So I just tried the new interface of the new and improved app and here is my scoop on it.
The good-the interface looks, feels nice and modern, definitely a departure from the old app. Most of the functions are the same.
The bad:
I use fidelity for my brokerage accounts and CMA for my cash management. I have a few Huge complaints that need to be addressed ASAP
1) bill pay-very primitive and takes way too long to post to the account. There is a portion of the day on the day after the payment is initiated (on standard 1-2 day bill pays)where the payment simply vanishes from account. It's not in pending nor is it in posted. I have panicked once and made the payment again during this period, only to realize my original payment posted the next day. I like the chase model the best for Bill pays, the second you initiate the bill pay, the second it should come out of your available balance. Period.
Also, the bill pays that have the check sent manually, do not post to the account until the item is cashed by the receiving party. Terrible when trying to balance your account.

Also, I would like to see images of items such as checks in the app as well as checks deposited via mobile deposit.

Last, when I make a mobile deposit into my CMA account, the funds take 5 business days to clear. Who waits 5 business days to clear anything these days.
Until these are fixed, this app gets 2 stars only.

Not designed for portfolio management

This app is designed by designers for designers — not regular people who just want to manage their portfolio quickly. For example: You can’t actually see the name of a security in your portfolio. It’s cut off in portfolio position table. If you tap on it, a pop-up appears that STILL keeps the name cut off — despite the limitless screen real estate. To make matters worst, if you try to tap on half of the links for more information, it sends you to a web view of a broken link. The design principles of this app appear to be oriented toward (a) showing us a skyline and (b) showing us a “feed” that has lots of random/useless information even after customizing it, apparently as a platform for Fidelity to sell us their ancillary services. This all comes at the expense of functionality, such as actually being able to see securities you hold in your own portfolio. Four years ago, Fidelity’s outdated app looked bad but functioned well. Today, it is slow, bloated, and functions poorly. But hey, skyline background.

Too much info I don't need/not enough that I do need


I like the feed idea with my accounts. But really, the only things I want to see are what I started with and where I am now...what exactly that is in dollars/cents and percent increase. When a stock I own is shown in the feed (and I'm signed in!), it only shows the price at closing. But it doesn't remind me what I bought it at and how much I've made. That's really all I want to know! And I can't find it in the app. On the flip side...there is so much info on there that gets in the way, that I don't need to read and is not what I'm looking for. It's way overcrowded with info that's over my head. I'm not an investment or stock specialist...I don't need that...what I need is to see the amount of money I've made over the time of owning the stock. I don't see that in the "personalized" feed. If it's there somewhere, it's not easy to find or get to. Wish they would change this.
