✓ 5X digital zoom
✓ Saves straight to Camera Roll
✓ Review your photographs and share them via e-mail, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram—or open them directly in an editing app
✓ Full in-app user guide
✓ As always, Jag.gr's full-service technical support
If you think your iPad might be a tad bulky to use as a camera, just marvel at how much slimmer and lighter this "steampunk" alternative is when compared with an *actual* Victorian field camera—and how much more capable!
Built on the same core technology used for Jag.gr's groundbreaking iPhone app 645 PRO, FieldCam gives you the chance to take great photographs with your iPad, while having great fun!
* On iPad 2 and later, the viewfinder is exactly 4x5 inches. On iPad mini, the viewfinder is smaller, but in proportion
What's New in Version 2.02
* Added GPS direction information to metadata
* Fixed: some obscure focusing issues
This app is good but long time no update!!
I have bought it by mistake and it is better that
App Store take of any app which has not updated more than six month ! Please !
Stupendous--THE Definitive iPad Camera
FieldCam, with its latest update, is simply unreal. Mike Hardaker/jag.gr have unleashed a beautiful, powerful monster-camera.
I have just about every worthwhile camera for the iPad and iPhone--dozens. FieldCam, however, is the first time (since I bought Hipstamatic in May 2011) that, the first time I used it, made me feel a little guilty since the result was so effortlessly amazing. But, hey--that's fine by me!
FieldCam is ultra-flexible, easy to use, stable, full-featured...and it produces gorgeous photographs.
Not only is there the "Era" wheel which lets you choose from eight different looks (Daguerrotype-ish to modern "2015; mono, bw, and color), there's an optional filtration system that consists of a 9-position selector and a smooth slider to control the filter intensity.
Two fantastic features are included: selectable spot/multi-zone metering, and the Night Watchman Switch. The Night mode allows the shutter to "open up to fifteen times longer than usual". It really works, and isn't a gimmick. It somehow manages to work without graining your images up to all hell, too, under reasonable circumstances.
Developing is fast, and accepts a queue while you continue to shoot. JPEGs save as medium--possibly medium-high (unlike some of the other jag.gr cameras which save as highest JPEG and/or TIFFs). I'm guessing this is to keep the processing fast, though I'd love to have the option to select high quality JPEGs, if not TIFFs.
The preview can be set to live, to give you real-time viewfinder with color effect. There's also a zoom, but I can only get it to display when the real-time preview is off. Standard locks are available for white balance, focus, and exposure. Grid and Flip are also present, in addition to readouts for ISO and shutter speed.
I highly recommend FieldCam, and offer a big, fat cigar to the devs.
Get it--you'll be glad you did.
All the best,
Painter, Photographer, Illustrator
