FileBot is the ultimate tool for organizing and renaming Movies, TV Shows, Anime or Music. It's smart, highly customizable, and just works.
If you're using HTPC software like Plex or Kodi then FileBot is a must-have utility!
FileBot will match your files against TheMovieDB or TheTVDB and then rename (or move / copy / symlink / hardlink) them exactly the way you want it. Anything is possible!
If you need help extracting archives en masse or checking SFV / MD5 / SHA1 / SHA256 files then FileBot will get that done too.
Organize your media files:
1. Drag media files onto "Original Files"
2. Click "Fetch Data" and select a database
3. Hit "Rename"!
► Tip #1: You can use drag-n-drop to load files from Finder into FileBot.

glitchy in sierra
Before upgrading to Sierra this app worked quite well. I tend to rename a lot of files that I have downloaded on a network drive (NAS) with the version compatible with sierra it freezes and crashes everytime i try to rename a file on a network drive. I have to copy the file locally, use filbot to rename then copy back to my NAS…. very tedious process. Please fix this!
If you’re working with Plex/Kodi or just organizing your digital library, this is one of the most essential tools you’ll find. I use it on a daily basis and LOVE it. Worth every penny in the countless hours it’s saved me. Highest recommendation!
This thing is so amazing, and I don’t know how I had never heard about it before today. I’m sure it’s capable of more than what I’ve gotten out of it in the 15 minutes I’ve been using, but even the basic way I’m using it is a revelation. I’ve had no problems on macOS Sierra 10.12.2 and my Synology DiskStation NAS. I’m planning to watch the tutorial videos when I have more time to see what the other functions (Episodes, SFV, Filter, List) do. So far I’ve only tried the Rename function.
