Description

FilePathMBI is a menu bar application and service for copying the:

• POSIX path
• URL encoded POSIX path
• Server afp URL
• Abbreviated (Tilde) POSIX path
• POSIX path for Terminal
• HFS path
• Full name
• Display name
• Extension
• Windows style path
• POSIX paths of root folder and all subfolders combined

of files and folders to the clipboard. Menu items can be symbolic names or show the actual clipboard contents to be pasted.

Visit our website for other information and a demo.

It can also be used for creating URLs from file paths, such as AFP type URLs. This is achieved using "prefixes" which are simply prepended to a URL encoded version of a POSIX path.

Menu items included in Services menus, particularly the Finder's, can be specified in the "Files and Folders" section of Services Preferences. You can easily access Services Preferences from any Services menu in any app.

As a service the menu items appear in every Services menu in the proper context: namely when objects in the file system are selected. You can control which items are included using Services Preferences: Located along the path 'Keyboard > Services > Shortcuts' in System Preferences, as shown in the accompanying screenshots.

Also see the accompanying screenshots for an example of using this service from the Finder's Services contextual menu.

Note that you can apply the functionality to multiple selections in the Finder at once, and when you do the clipboard will contain a list of items, one for each selected file and folder.

Great! But Pricy..

It's exactly what I was looking for and I got it but for 9.99? That's a little pricy. And I think that in the context menu you should have instead of all of those under services, you should have at least one out and that should be to just copy the plain full file path. Please do this and I think your sells would be better if you lowered the price...

Very useful for developers

Building iOS/Mac OS apps tends to involve a lot of sundry file moving and other operations outside of ye ol XCode. This is a great way to get quick access to the files' full paths in numerious useful forms. Recommended.
