Description

This app builds your skills in playing the real Mahjong game.

The full description of how to play this game is available on google search under "Filipino Mahjong". Four players are needed to play the actual game: South, East, North and West seated counter-clockwise in that order. The human player is "South", labelled "S", while the other three labelled "E", "N" and "W" are automatically played by the computer.

The game uses animation in tiles movement and sound to announce players moves and results. It has all game features such as "bunot", "tapon", "pong", "kang", "secret", "sagasa", "7 pairs", "escalera", "before the fifth".. etc. It also keeps a tally of all players' virtual winnings based on traditional scoring rules.

Beginners of the game using this app can practice and gain experience before they play the actual game. Experts can use it for entertainment and hone their skills at the same time.

Not formatted for iPhone X

I was happy to find the browser version of this game, which works well even though the programming/graphics are very basic. I finally caved and bought the app version, but on the iPhone XS, The tapon pile gets covered behind the iPhone’s camera notch. You can flip to landscape mode to see the tapon pile , but then you can’t see the action buttons. Would be nice if this app could get more support so the developer could improve the game.

Basic but better than nothing!

Only thing missing is the sound effects of the tiles being shuffled!

Disappointed

I was happy to find a phone version of some type of Filipino Style Mahjong but while I enjoy the Tagalog version what I don’t enjoy is that North always wins like 90 percent of the time and while I played for some 12 hours I only won three times. I am a good mahjong player in real life but this virtual mahjong is not enjoyable when you loose all the time. I do not recommend paying for this mahjong game if you cannot win at least 60 percent of the time. Disappointed.
