Ratings and Reviews
Great grave info app, and developers responsive!
A huge thank you to Find-a-Grave app developers for recently adding iPad Landscape support, greatly appreciated! They do read user feedback and work hard to accommodate our suggestions.
The Find-a-Grave app provides great grave info searches, including matches by name, date, location, as well as whatever grave info is available, including locations, obituaries, etc. Very helpful to find someone based on partial info and to narrow the search.
With the latest updates, very well done and helpful app, and runs nicely across different devices.

No Longer a Fan
I am not sure if I just noticed this or if it is part one of the newer updates. But I do not care to be GPS tracked while logged in to this app. I turn off my Location Services for a reason.
I understand that it makes sense to geo locate graves, but this Ancestry owned entity appears to have joined the world of data mining schemes, along with LDS and everyone else, it appears.
Thank you for your response. I am a longtime iOS user and DO have your app set to NEVER under location and keep Location Services OFF on my phone. The fact remains that your app displays my location when it us running, which means, I think, fhat YOU are collecting this info. Correct me if I am wrong, please. If there are other PRIVACY settings, please describe them for me.
Thank you for another reply. I see a GPS location on a screen with a heading that says “Home Location”. Is that reading from my address or my current phone location? If it has nothing to do with my cell, I apologize.

Hi, we regret any confusion about Location Services. In your phone settings, we have provided a couple of options for your location. One is to only give your location while using the app and one is to never give your location. If you are taking photos with your phone and your location is available, the GPS information will upload along with the headstone photo. You are then helping other people to easily find the headstone in the future. We do understand your desire for privacy and provide an option for that as well. We hope that you join in with our community of volunteers all over the world who work together to record burial information and build memorials to honor the deceased.
We have searched our app with locations services set to NEVER. The location is not being tracked. Please let us know where you are seeing the app displaying your location. We have not been able to replicate this. If you would like you may send a screenshot of what you are seeing to email@example.com along with your phone type and iOS. We will see what is occurring and resolve it.
We don't have a page with 'Home Location' in the header. Please send us a screenshot at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll help you figure this out. Here are a couple of links from Apple that might help:
Such a great site!
I’m so glad i discovered Find-A-Grave. I’ve found friends I lost contact with years ago who have passed away. I would have never know had it not been for this site. I was searching for a few friends to try and reconnect — and was led to this site. I’d still be searching had I not found them here.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
