What's New in Version 4.0.1
Bug fixes and stability improvements
Effective but read this horror story
So this app does work most of the time, and can be fairly helpful too. But we all know GPS location services is still not 100% accurate, so relying on it shouldn't be the way to go, and I have a story to prove it, which is why the app has a low rating.
My girlfriend was finishing school in Baltimore while I was in Atlanta, and out of pure boredom and curiosity I opened this app. It showed that her location was at a house on a street unfamiliar to me, and yet she claimed to be getting her nails done. To make a long story short, there was a fight that could have escalated into something much bigger had she not sent irrefutable proof that she indeed was getting her nails done.
This isn't that accurate is all I'm trying to say, by no means should this be in the 'essentials' category either. Maybe it was just a weird one time thing, but the fact that this app caused something like this solely based on its solid reputation tells me that this really doesn't stand up to the hype despite inaccuracy just being a part of the game with GPS systems
Greta app but needs improvement on location accuracy
This app made so many problems for me on so many levels. I was out on business travel and my husband could not get ahold of me so he check in the app to pinpoint my location. Although I was in the hotel sleep the app would change my location "slightly" every minute to the point it looked like I was a few feet from my actual location. I went into the app ad saw the change occur every minute the app refreshed. I love this app not only for my kids and for safety percussion when I am traveling alone. Just make sure who ever you are sharing your location with know that it gives you the location within a certain parameter. Kind of like the find iPhone with the green circle around you pined location.
So tired of people's incessant whining, the app works great for me, my family & friends. I can see where they are within 10 or so feet. I can tell if they are in a moving vehicle. If I hit hybrid or standard on the map road names appear. The maps are a little dated but does it really matter if Suzie's treehouse shows on the map or if it shows little Suzie on the swings instead of the sandbox? Are we so lazy that we can't look around with our own eyes to find each other a few feet away? For those of you complaining that your location is off & the app isn't working, hello, check your settings! Look in iCloud, privacy & location-system services. Make sure all three are set to share your location. It's not rocket science folks!!!
