Bug fixes and stability improvements
Works but useless
The app works ok for the most part, it's not as accurate as it should be. But if you have an iPhone then this app is pretty much useless and just taking up space that you can save by just using the location share that your phone already has built into it. Make sure location is turned on in everyone's settings...I open a text to myself from my kids' phones and click share location indefinitely. Then from my phone I can click on the text from them and hit details at the top, and it has a map of their location. If I click the map it shows it larger and gives a more precise address and location in 3D which shows actual landscape, houses, streets etc. I also have it set so my kids can see my location and my hubby and I can see each other's locations. It's nice to be able to keep an eye on the kids, and just for us all to know where each other is so we know if one of us is on our way home or near the store if we need something etc.
But as far as you psycho stalkers go, seriously? If you don't trust your girlfriend/boyfriend whatever then you both need to move on and grow the hell up already. And like someone else said, if this app is stressing you out and causing you more emotional problems than you already have then, good, you deserve it for being a total wackjob, psycho, stalker. I hope ya'll get kicked to the curb and your gf/bf whatever carries some sort of protection to keep you nutjobs far far away from them.
Get some help··· seriously.
Used to work, now it doesn't
I've used this app since it came out and for years I had no trouble at all. The sometime in 2014 it just stopped finding my mom. It always said "Location not available" even when she was right next to me. I tried everything I could think of: signing out and back in, deleting and reinstalling, restarting the phone, deleting her and reconnecting, and did all of this on both phones. Nothing worked. I even upgraded to the iPhone 6, still nothing. Then last month, (May 2015) my other contacts started showing up as not available. So the app is now completely useless due to a problem that has persisted for close to a year. Internet searches have turned up no solutions, only other people with the same problem. Apple, as ever, is completely silent on the topic and apparently is in no particular hurry to handle it. This is a trend I feel is becoming more and more prominent with Apple. They race to update their OS every 6 months and pump out a "new" iPhone every 12-18 months but have no real interest in fixing stuff the break along the way. I've been a lifelong Apple fan but as time goes on I find myself ever more curious about how customer-oriented the competition is.
Randomly works, and rarely anymore
I have kids with iOS devices and when they're traveling, we use FF to make sure they've arrived safely, etc. we also use it when we're traveling. The app used to work great. 2-3 months ago, it started randomly dropping family members, and we would have to send follow requests. Then it would work, and once again quit. More recently, in the past 3-4 weeks, it's exceedingly common for the app to locate one family member, and say "location not available" for any number of the others. Sometimes (rarely), it will show them a short while later. Sometimes it shows all, but I can't remember the last time it showed the all. We have turned off location sharing and then turned it back on. I have verified Find My iPhone works, even when FF doesn't. I have verified cellular data for FF is on and the devices are connected to the network, and/or wifi, and that each device's FF app is "following" each other. I just had one device disappear, two I can't locate, and one I can. Then ten minutes later, one appeared again. It was in the same room the entire time.
The bottom line is this once reliable and useful app has become an almost entirely unreliable pain in the neck.
