"Peaceful but absorbing, and in the end quietly satisfying" ~Kirkus Reviews
"That rare case where conventional picture book meets technology and the result is something fresh and harmonious." ~The Horn Book
"Fiona & the Fog" is a unique and beautiful moving picture-book. It's a curious blend of photography, illustration, and video, and it's not quite like anything else you'll see on the App Store.
THE TALE, IN BRIEF:
It's a cool, foggy morning in the city, and Fiona is bored. So bored, in fact, that she doesn't see the Fog sneak right up behind her and steal her favorite scarf! Follow Fiona as she chases the Fog across the city and back...and has a much more exciting day than she ever expected.
-Stunning moving-photo pages
-Imagery designed specifically for the iPad's retina display
-A modern musical score written just for the book
-Simple, elegant navigation to find your favorite pages over and over
-An engaging, colorful story
-Made for all ages

What a book!
What a lovely experience for young children! There is often very subtle movement on pages and sometimes more surprising movement on other pages. Like other comments here, it is a real treat to sit with your young child and linger on each page. The story, the extraordinary visuals, dear Fiona, that clever fog, the colors, and the music are all mesmerizing. The story is a journey and a search yet it is peaceful and rewarding. I have never seen such a book like this and it is right up there with old Children’s Book Classics!
A movie that's a book
I've never seen/experienced anything quite like this. It's different from a movie, which goes at its pace; with this, you can stay on any page as long as you'd like (without tapping a pause button). Many of our friends are young parents and their children, and reading is a favorite activity, so I know all about lingering on a page until the children are ready to go to the next page. The illustrations, the music, the way the author brings every page to life make this a pleasure to read/view/listen to. I'm already looking forward to what William Poor does next; definitely an artist to follow.
