Firehawk Remote 4+

Sometimes the app will connect to the Firehawk, but only allow me to play backing tracks and not also allow me to adjust the amp model settings or access the tuner. It seems like there is a Bluetooth connectivity problem either in their software or in the hardware that they implemented within the amp.

I found that I can fix this issue by deleting the app off of the phone and then reloading it through the iTunes Store. It’s unfortunate that line 6 doesn’t have a fix for this issue.

On a more positive note, I love the Firehawk amp when it’s working correctly. Backing tracks sound really nice through the amp and I can create any guitar tone that I want.

I bought a brand new iPad to work with this app and my Firehawk pedal, and for a while it did. But as soon as I updated to iOS 11 the app started dropping the Bluetooth connection when using the music playback function. Any time you try to rewind or go to the next track it drops the connection to the pedal and the music stops playing through it. It’s basically unusable as a practice tool, which is what I bought it for. And Line 6 is very slow to update the program. I can’t believe they take so long. I have other music apps from Moog, etc. that get updated a lot more often. Pretty disappointing support for this expensive pedal.

UPDATE: I find that when trying to switch the pedal presets (ABCD) when connected to an iPad that the pedal freezes and the Bluetooth and app disconnects. I am then unable to switch the pedal again until it reconnects to the iPad. I have the latest iOS and firmware on the pedal. What a waste of money. Don’t think I’ll be buying any more Line6 gear.

I’ve had my Firehawk for about 2 years, I’ve seen no updates or anything that fixes the crashing issue or disconnection issue with the app and pedal. I really wish Line 6 would be more on top of things when I came to this. We bought firehawk because of the app that was arrested as a remote to use with iPad. That was awesome until the crashing stated to happen. I waited and waited for an update...and nothing. I can’t even use the app. It crashes after 3 seconds every time it’s opened. I deleted and redo loaded and the same issue continues. Yes, everything is up to date on my iPad, and I’m beginning to think that the firehawk app isn’t. Come on Line 6, I would love to rate this app 5/5 but instead I can only give 2 stars. Please fix and your customers would be happy to know that you listened.
