Way better than Koi Pond!
I have both, and love this one. Koi Pond's graphics may be a little nicer, but at least this one is interactive. Just be sure to feed the little fishies, or they'll die. As for the person below me talking about the "gem count", there is no such thing. The little bar that pops up at the bottom tells you 1) How many fish are in your pond. 2) How many pieces of food are in the pond. 3) How much money you've got. The number to the right of the little orange ball icon is how many pieces of food there are. All I can think is that you're sort of shaking the ipod as you pick up the gems, therefore putting more food out. The cash amount is what increases when you pick up coins and gems. Just fyi... =) Love this game though!!
I was curious what roll the gems play in this application. I continue to collect them but every couple minutes or so it tells me that I have some random amount of gems. I may have 38 gems then pick up 3 gems and suddenly my gem count list 50 gems.
I also noticed "sometimes" when I feed the fish, the gem count goes down by a lot all at once.
For the dev:
Are you ever planning to make upgrades/improvements to this application?
Unique blends of colouration brings favor to this virtual life, so entrancingly meditative, a real hypnotic beauty.
Offering no more and no less then what the description would lead you to believe. Though, one can hope for future additions aimed at higher care levels with added options to resemble more of a game then a screen saver.
Complementing Pond Decorations
Plant Life (found in ponds)
Water Maint. (expands pond size)
Koi Geneology (to learn to breed)
Tap to zoom in on fish
Interactive fish responding to touch
With just a few more features (I really do hope the dev. intends on making updates) this could easily be a 5 star top rated game/entertainment.
My 6-year old loves it! Can it be more?
Aori's comments are right on point. Right now this is a glorified screensaver but it could become an honest to goodness sim app if the developer wanted to go there. Animation quality, store selection, fish responsiveness, better water ripple effects could bump this up to a level of realism that could be more compelling. As it is now, my 6-year old loves to check for bling and enjoys naming the fish. I predict that once the fish are maxed out, this program will cease to be interesting.
