Fitbod Member’s Say:
“Takes the guesswork out of the gym! The automatic workout generator is excellent, the interface is gorgeous, and certain key features like the easy substitution of one exercise for another and the ability to customize recovery percentages are truly brilliant."

“Great for Beginners too! Love the Fitbod app, it has helped me so much in my workouts and development. Was stuck for years around 15% body fat and doing the same workout. After using the app for 2-3 months, went to 10% body fat and doing so many different things during the workout. Thank you so much for this app."

Not for your casual gamer

Hello everyone let me say first this app is great! This is the best app of its kind... if u don’t mind paying. If your like me you don’t have to much extra spending cash especially for an in app purchase. I have avidly been using this app for about a year or more and i have loved it. It was great to time my breaks find out a rough estimate of what i burned (Cals) and to see how to properly do new exercises. I Had zero problems with the app minus a crash or two here and there but now 40$ a year is just not worth what i’m getting. I understand the company has to make money and for some of you 40$ is nothing but for me it’s quite a chunk of change i didn’t think i would be needing to spend Love the app just wish you wouldn’t force users to buy a subscription to use it. maybe a very limited free trial that gives the bare minimum would be a good substitute. Other then the price i highly recommend this app to all people on the fitness spectrum.

UPDATE: I qualified for the beta program and was pleasantly surprised that they cared about their users i’m giving them a Big five stars for their actual care for customers great app and even better developers

One year later, much better despite bugs.

I started using this app over a year ago and I forgave a lot of the bugs because they were constantly improving and eager for feedback. After 13 months, They’ve eliminates many of those bugs, improved sync, but still have bugs. Even so, this is my go-to workout app because of its simplicity and Apple Watch integration. As nice as the app is for just heading out to the gym and having a fresh workout routine created for you, I would caution folks from relying completely on the app’s exercise selection. Some workout routines are often senseless and even borderline dangerous. For instance, I was given an intermediate routine that included three different pull-up routines with body weight amounting to roughly 13 sets of 5-8 reps of pull-ups. In the same set, it calculated that I should do incline bench and, two exercises later, a dumbbell flat bench using a dumbbell weight that I’ve never gotten close to using. They need to program better the exercise routines. The layout and breadth of exercises and Apple Watch integration are good, despite bugs. Even better, the app has actually produced noticeable results in my physique and strength.

Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback. Apple Watch improvements have been a priority for us and our next release 3.0.1 will deliver quite a few performance and sync updates. We're also aware of a weight recommendation bug that will also be fixed in out next releases. Appreciate the feedback - we're a small team and working hard to keep Fitbod stable while listening to user feedback and shipping new features. Thanks!

Fantastic, but tweaks are welcome

Overall absolutely fantastic app, and helps me stay consistent and on top of each muscle group in a way that wasn’t as easy to do beforehand. This way it also helps keep variation in each workout. Pretty much no two workouts are the same. Best part: I get to ensure that each muscle group is getting the intensity it needs, when it needs it, as well as the rest that it needs, when it needs it.

Biggest complaint: Deadlift does not accurately represent the right muscle groups. It currently considers hamstrings to be the primary muscle group, so it has the most affect on that muscle group. However, while hamstrings are *a* primary muscle group, deadlift also incorporates the glutes and lower back *a lot.* plus, theres all the secondary muscle groups incorporates. Likewise for squats, cleans, and snatches... the muscle groups could be tweaked and a bit more accurate.

Room for improvement: I would love to see this app at its full potential – keeping track and making graphs of my progress over time! I currently use a different app for this and would love to just have it all in one app.
