What is FLAC?
FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec, an audio format similar to MP3, but lossless, meaning that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to how Zip works, except with FLAC you will get much better compression because it is designed specifically for audio, and you can play back compressed FLAC files with FLAC Player+ app just like you would an MP3 file.
- Support FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) and many other audio codecs such as MP3, AAC, WMA, RM...
- Support 24-bit, 32-bit audio output.
- Manage your songs by playlist, album, artist, composer, genre.
- Support background audio.
- Support bluetooth headset.
- Support Wi-Fi transfer.
What's New in Version 2.3
- Covert art.
- Transfer multiple files via WiFi connection.
- Play audio file from iCloud Drive.
FLAC Player + is a very nice player.
I've been using FLAC Player + for about two weeks now and I'm happy with it. I went thru the App Store and tried out all the free players that I could find. I like FLAC Player + the best because I can use it without having to fool with iTunes and because it's the only player that I could find that works with iCloud. I already have all my bit torrent downloads stored in iCloud and I didn't want to have to give up iCloud and move everything to another cloud service that the other players require you to use.
The reasons I gave it four stars instead of five is that I've had it inexplicably close down when I try to upload some files and I can't figure out how to remove a file that I uploaded by mistake. It seems to sometimes just refuse to upload a file and just crashes on me. I've emailed the developer to see if I can get an answer on how to delete files uploaded in error.
App doesn't work!
The app's cover art system is wonky. Some of my albums have cover art, while most do not. I also cannot make playlists of entire albums, I have to manually select each individual song if I want to make a playlist. And even when I finished adding all the songs, I can't rearrange them if I want to change the order. And, biggest bug of all, THE APP DOESN'T PLAY MUSIC WHEN YOU LEAVE THE APP, IT DOESNT WORK WITH THE IOS9 pause/play buttons, and it stops playing when your IPHONE SCREEN GOES DARK. This app is broken and fails at it's main purpose, not to mention the gaps between tracks that interrupt the flow of music. This is a shame as this is the only free FLAC player that is somewhat intuitive... Or at least it USED to be.
Simple but efficient and useful interface
It is missing the ability to delete entire albums rather than just single songs. As its not possible to sort songs by album and only alphabetically it is very difficult to delete an entire album
It would also help if the application processed folders when transferring file through iTunes as it would allow the same through iTunes (which only shows file name so it's even harder)
