Flashcard Hero Free
By Kitestack Software
Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
Make your own flash cards and take the pressure out of test preparation. Flashcard Hero keeps track of what facts you already know so you can focus on what you don’t know and save a lot of time.
Beyond your average-vocab-app: We made Flashcard Hero for those of you who want to fit more than a few words on each card. You can add lists and use text formatting to structure your content. Cards even expand as you add more text so you can take notes during class and turn them into study cards later. All decks can easily be shared with others via the web.
- Up to 20 cards per deck (unlimited decks)
- Downloaded decks can be studied, but not changed
- Unlock unlimited cards and add image-support via In-App Purchase
- iCloud can also be unlocked via In-App-Purchase
iPhone app: After buying the In-App upgrade you can also use the free iPhone app to study your cards on the go.
FEATURES (all versions):
- Group cards by topic (e.g. text book chapters)
- Basic text formatting (lists, bold font, italic,…)
- Many deck cover styles
- Difficulty level for each card
- Detailed study session summaries
- Import decks you already have (TSV format)
- Take notes during class; cards expand automatically
- Share decks via the web
A note about iCloud Drive (after In-App purchase):
The app does work with iCloud Drive under Mac OS X Yosemite and iOS 8. If you have problems getting it to work, please get in touch through email (or use the feedback button in the app) and we’ll figure it out. So far, we could help everybody who got in touch.
This is just the beginning. If you’d like to see a certain feature, let us know through the feedback button in the app.
Cards should be in “tab separated values” format, no text formatting, multiple lines per side are OK.)
What's New in Version 1.9.2
iCloud: On Mac OS X Yosemite, the iCloud upload status is now updated as soon as the deck is uploaded to iCloud.
Not Enough Emphasis on Question
I had no problem with app, but I just don’t like the look when you study. I wanted this to replace my physical flash cards. Ones in which I write the question on the front and the answer on the back. I hate how this has it all on one side and the question is small. It does not leave a visual lasting impression, thus I cannot recall as well. I rather stare at the bright colored picture that is “blocking” my answer, rather than focusing on the question. If this is supposed to act as physical index cards do, I do not know anyone who arranged them with the question an answe ron the same side, its stupid! I guess I will stick to traditional paper flashcards until I find an app that works.
Great App and Study Support
I absolutely love this app!
I am a high school English teacher, a continuing education student myself, and OCD embracer! This app has helpd me to stay organized throughout all the classes that I teach as well as those that I am a student in, and I cannot recommend it more! I encourage all of my students to download and utilize this app because it both organizers you and your notes, but it also offers a study/review component!
I love this app so much!!! it has helped to imrpove my grades, and I even achieved A’s on my midterms because of this useful study tool!:) I would like it if I were to be able to create cards on my iPad, and not just my iMac that would be so useful! In my opinion, I would recommend this app over quizlet anyday haha. Thank you creators for this outstanding app!
