People use the Flashcard Hero Mac & iOS apps to study many different subjects. Here’s a short list of the most popular subjects based on the over 2 million cards that users have shared among each other so far:

- Medicine (anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, genetics)
- Psychology
- Law & business administration (economics, marketing, international law)
- History and politics
- Languages (Latin, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Spanish, German)
- Social sciences
- Music and music theory
- Space physiology (how cool is that?)
- Many more…

You see a lot of subjects in the top ranks where people have to memorize a lot of “structured” information. That’s because Flashcard Hero is designed specifically to go beyond language learning, offering more room on each card for facts, lists, and images. You can also organize cards into topics (to match chapters of a text book, for example).

Helpful app

Cassanahandrah

This app is great and has been a great resource and very helpful. I did take off one star however because I wish a couple things were different. For one I wish that when I switch the colors of the font I did not have to change it every single time, instead of it carrying over until I change it back. That takes up too much time. Also, I wish there was an easier way to go in to making a new card. I do this from my iPad but clicking (+) every time is annoying. Yes it only take 1/2 second to click it but its still something that could be changed. This app has some serious potential though. But it wasn’t free so I feel there should be more offered on it. Thanks!

Was awesome

Edit:
Great customer support. We sorted my problem and everything is working well again. Fast and courteous service. Thank you!

This was a great app until recently. It won’t download any of my flash cards onto my phone. It says it’s not signed into iCloud, but I can view all of them from the app. But I click the download icon and it does nothing. I go to the settings and it says it’s not signed into iCloud, yet the slider bar to activate iCloud is inoperative. Make the app usable again.

Developer Response

Hi there, sorry for the problems with iCloud. I just sent you an email with instructions how to get iCloud working again. Let me know (via email) if that does the trick. Cheers, Rico

I went back to school this fall to start working on a second degree. I’ve been using this app all semester and it has been great. Prior to using this app I made flash cards the old fashioned way. Like other reviewers, I use the Mac version to make the flash cards and then study with my phone. I’m studying geology, being able to drag and drop photos has been very useful. It would be nice to have a counter while in Memorize mode, so that I can see how many cards I have left to go through.
