Flashcards-Chinese was a conventional way of learning Chinese Characters by memorizing Chinese symbolic shapes with pictures. They have been using to improve Chinese language for more than fifty years in many Chinese childhood.
A software version of Flashcards -Chinese has been kept the traditional layout and graphics. Parents are familiar with this tool. They are able to apply the old fashion learning process with their children by the same teaching skills in Chinese, that they had from grand parents before.
How exciting for who is interesting to teach kids learning Chinese on iPhone!
This is the one of the most difficult writing language in the world. Therefore, we learn how to write by following the stroke order. Flashcards -Chinese provide the conventional way of learning stroke order by showing brush paint animations.
Moreover, true human voices have given a good chance to learn Pronunciation.
It is not only a great and fun tool for self training in Chinese, but also a cool reference e-book for showing the beauty of Chinese Characters developed from pictures.
Over 300 daily-used Chinese vocabularies were collected in Flashcards -Chinese, including body parts, animals, fowls, birds, insects, marine biology, plants, vegetables, fruit, food, home electric appliance, articles for daily use, musical instruments, architecture, play and sports, transportation, and vocation.
．Over 300 daily-used Chinese vocabularies with pictures
．Human voice pronunciation for each vocabulary and Chinese character
．Stroke order demonstration for each Chinese character
．Learn how to read/write/pronounce at the same time
．Only support traditional Chinese characters, no simplified Chinese characters.
Lots of flashcards!
This is a very good app. Lots of cards!
However, the chinese character is not showing up on the flashcards as pictured above in the sample. Only the english word is showing up, but the Chinese is being pronounced.
Also, there should be an easier way (and less confusing way) to get to the character pronunciation and stroke order page. Maybe a button at the bottom, between bookmark and back. Also, only one Chinese character is showing up on the stroke page, instead of the entire 2 or 3 characters that make up the word. If you only want one character on each page, then have the different characters be strollable to the next page(s).
It's great that the bo-po-mo-fo is on the flashcards. It will be even more great if they are on the main flashcard.
