Study right with the unique SmartStudy mode. SmartStudy uses a variation of a Leitner Box system, which is scientifically proven to increase the effectiveness of flash cards. The app will display the cards you need to study them, when you need to study them to make sure you know the material.
Flashcards is designed to make it easy for you to create your own flashcards on the iPhone. It is simple to generate sets of your own flashcards. Put whatever you want on a card: text, pictures, or even audio. Create as many sets as you want with as many cards as you want.
Your Flashcards speak. Now with Text to Speech you can hear your flashcards. With support for over 30 languages!
Easily create flashcards on your iPhone or iPod Touch to carry with you anywhere you go. Studying has never been easier!
Each card can have text, images, audio, or any combination of the three on the front or on the back. Create cards with images of paintings and their artists, or classical compositions and their composers. Change the font size, font color, and background color of your cards. Create your cards how you want to create them. The possibilities are endless.
Create a group for your cards, and then create as many cards as you want. The cards can appear in random order or sequentially, whichever you decide. While you’re running through, if you notice a flashcard that you’ve got down, just mark it to skip and it won't appear until you choose to include it again. Right before your test the touch of one button will reset all the flashcards so you can run through them again. It’s that simple.
Quickly find your cards! If you need to make a modification to a card, don't browse through hundreds of cards, just start typing and find your card quickly, make the changes and get back to studying!
Add topics to your groups and then put your cards into multiple topics. Turn an entire topic on or off, or study one at a time. All the time the application tracks how many times you get a card right or wrong, then decide to skip it or turn SmartStudy mode on and let the application handle how often to show your cards.
You decide what goes on your flashcard. You decide to go through them randomly or sequentially. You learn the material. You ace the test.
Supports special characters! To write a character with an accent, hold down the base key for a second, and the variants will be available to choose from!
Course Hero Flashcard Syncing currently does not support audio, or images on the back side of cards.

Old School versus....."flash"
I've created written flash cards for a long time. And, for an equally long time, I've yawned through them not really paying attention to what they said. I tried this app because I wanted the convenience of having the info. on my phone. However, this turned out to be so much more than just a convenience item. The action of the turning cards, the option to mark the card as to whether you answered correctly or not was great. I found myself flipping through the app whenever I had a moment and in the end, I learned the Greek Alphabet and the letter sounds associated with the symbols in no time. The only thing I might ask for is the ability to change the font size,
Bad User Interface
Options (buttons) take up most of the screen. There are so many buttons and toolbars covering the majority of the screen, rather than using gestures, smaller icons, or translucent buttons to see the card behind it. (1) There is two "next" options for some reason, on the top and on the bottom; (2) there is a bar for whether you get it right or wrong; (3) and for some reason there is a bar showing the time and battery life on the top, unlike other apps that hide it. Poor configuration of screen use, rather than taking advantage of the screen size to fit entire notecard. Also, words that are bold, underline, and italics on the excel file do not import. One positive, allows user to scroll if answer is long.
Keeps Getting Better
This app is awesome and keeps getting better. It's super simple to use, with the new Course Hero integration it's even easier to edit my cards on my computer and have them show up instantly on the app.
The SmartStudy mode really works too, makes studying so much quicker!
Being able to set defaults for the background and text color is great too, and you can set them to all your cards at once.
