What's New in Version 5.1.1
- Bug fixes, including a fix for an issue that was causing a crash for some of our international users.
- Minor change to map zoom behavior.
Bad attempted improvement.
The previous GUI was much better, it went from a 4star app to a 2star app; as a professional pilot I fly on the airlines weekly as a passenger. The other interface was head and shoulders better than the new prettier/not better interface. How do I track inbound flight now? How do I keep my first and second legs in a cue so I can switch between them? Before it was quick and simple. I was searching for a Delta flight and it came up with cannot find flight number. Then I searched on the airport pair and found the flight, the number was correctly displayed. The darker background was much easier to read with varying environmental light conditions, because of a greater contrast between the font characters and background color. The font size is too small to read without reading glasses. And you cannot pinch expand! Who designed your previous GUI really understood better how the heavy user would use the app, what information was wanted and new how to make the display functionality easer to navigate because the touch areas were larger reducing the number of missed touches. It seems like the developers are more focused on marketing adds on the interface than making a quality functional app.
Wish I could go back to the old version
Used to love this app until it got"updated"'in late 2015. I track my husbands flights all the time, now I usually lose them over the ocean, the map interface is horrible, searching for a flight is harder than it used to be. I can barely use the map part. I try to expand to full screen or pan around the map and it goes back a screen or just gets me lost somewhere else in the world. I make maps for a living and this is one of the worst map interfaces I've seen. Please go back to the old version or make improvements! I've resorted to using the airlines tracking websites which uses to be subpar to FlightAware but now at least can track over Atlantic.
Use it weekly!
Frequent business traveler. After search results populate, it's so easy to navigate and review information regarding flight delays at specific airports, your flight status and where the plane is coming from. User doesn't have to jump around; all the info is linked to flights.
Carrier apps may have flight status info, but they don't have weather maps, airport status updates, etc.
