It has been a loooooong time since we've updated this app - five years! Our apologies to all the users who have downloaded the previous terrible versions up until now.
This release is a quick-fix attempt to replace the faulty versions that were available on the app store previously, but it is just the start of a much larger revamp that will hopefully let us produce a really cool flight tracking app, moving forward!
Flight Tracker Pro is Flightwise.com's iPhone utility for tracking Commercial or General Aviation flights anywhere within United States airspace (Only flights in US and Canadian airspace, including Alaska, Hawaii, parts of the Caribbean, and other US territories are supported at this time).
This application is not geared towards the typical flying traveller, and does not provide gate information, seating coordination, or any other related services. It is strictly for tracking an aircraft's location and expected arrival time. Use of this application is geared towards professional-grade aviation-industry flight tracking, or for aircraft tracking enthusiasts.
Users can enter an aircraft tail number or an FAA flight ID, and a tracking map of the aircraft and its current position appears. From the airline search page, you can choose from hundreds of airlines and type in the flight number to track an aircraft. You can search by other parameters, such as airport & aircraft type, and you can combine search parameters if you have something specific in mind.
Users can select individual flights to track from a listing of search results. View past flight history, N-Number registration details, photo images of aircraft, and other specifics. The map is scrollable with the finger, and pinch to zoom functionality is also provided.
Users can also display a list of flights located within a specified radius of their current location, and keep a history list of recently-tracked flights for quick access.
Also included in this version, users can take photos of flights or aircraft and upload them to the main Flightwise website, sharing them with the rest of the world. Great for spotters and enthusiasts.

What's New in Version 4.0
This update features a completely revamped user interface. Flight Tracker has been enhanced under the hood, as well. Now offering better performance, this is the most significant update in its 4 years on the App Store.
This is practically useless.
After searching through the slew of flight tracking apps out there, this appeared to have the best in graphics and weather overlay, which is helpful as an overview for my job.
I used the free version to test it before I purchased it and had trouble finding flights as others have mentioned. I was hoping that the Pro version of the app would have better results with more filters for sorting and selecting the routes that are scheduled, inflight, or have already arrived.
The only difference between the free app and the Pro version of this app was no advertising.
Once downloaded, I could not find known flights that were enroute or had flown and landed. The filters will not pull up any Flight info from the select city pairs and actual flight numbers that I plugged in.
Though the graphics and the map display are good, not being able to find the flights you need info on makes this app worthless.
I'd suggest until there is a MAJOR UPDATE to the usability of this app, that you save your money and spend it on an app that actually will work.
Great but does not show all flights
I use this app to see if flights are delayed or on time because my partner is a flight attendant. Today he went to Costa Rica from Minneapolis and the app didn't even have his flight number or anything. Basically spent too much money to not have the ability To see all major flights.
Should be free
I'm sitting at the airport. Very few flights show up. Times are not correct. I put in DCA to BOS and zero flights show up. There are 8 a day at least. Total waste of $5. Even at $.99 I wouldn't be happy with the purchase. Just show me the departure board, times and gate info. Maybe the data from the FAA is incorrect.
