Established in 1999 by brothers Paul, Bill, and Rob O’Brien, Floyd’s 99 was created with a vision of providing old-school barbershop client service with a new-style vibe and on-trend cuts. Employing talented Stylists and Barbers, Floyd’s 99 Barbershop’s offers a full range of services for men and women. In addition to expertly crafted haircuts, color, and waxing, Floyd’s 99 is known for its classic straight-razor neck shave with hot lather and steamed towels; and for offering Clients a complimentary shoulder massage after every service. While men make up a large portion of Floyd’s 99’s clientele, the barbershop also offers a full menu of services for women including cuts, color services, deep conditioning treatments, styling, and facial waxing. To further enhance and personalize each service, Floyd’s 99 created its own grooming line to allow the Client to take home a piece of the experience received in the shop.

Rough start to an app and appointment process
Having an app to make appointments is a good idea but this is a very weak implementation. Interface is not intuitive. For many of the listed stylists, there are no appointments available — so why give the user the option to select them? The workflow should start with the user giving a date of service and the software should be smart enough to offer only those stylists with availability on that date. Even when I select “anybody” for stylist there are hardly any appointments available same day yet every time I simply call to make an appointment they have availability or when I walk in they always take me within 15-30 minutes. Maybe they are holding back a lot of the appointment inventory for walk ins and call ins? But then why have an app for appointments? This needs revision to be useful but is a good idea if they can get it right.

Great Concept, App Needs Work
I love the concept of this app. Instead of having to call in you can just quickly tap into this app and schedule an appointment, with some work it’ll be great.
But for now it needs some work. The interface isn’t hard to understand, but it isn’t intuitive by any means. Also I’ve checked the app and then called in twice now, and when you call in there are more appointment times available. Not sure if there is a miscommunication or if they do this to keep spots open for call ins as well. For now I’ll keep calling, but excited to see improvements to this new system.

Good start, needs refinement
Love that you have an app! Hate calling, it’s always so difficult to hear anyone over the background music.
The app needs serious work. The schedules and availability are so difficult to navigate. The animated transitions between pages are artificially slow, which makes it feel so clunky. Couldn’t figure out why my barber was not on the schedule, the app defaults to some weird location that’s not near me. Had a hard time changing the location.
Finally your email confirmation is weird. On “services” it says I ordered two cuts? “2 - Haircuts - Floyd’s Cut with ....” I ordered one cut?
