Description

Want to focus better on what you're doing? Focus Time is a beautifully designed timer for people who want to avoid distractions and get more done.

LifeHacker: "Keeps You On-Task and Productive"

Want to eliminate the anxiety of time and enhance your focus and concentration?

The key is to apply yourself to tasks by working in units of 25 minutes, separated by short breaks of 5 minutes.

The steps are:

1. Choose a task to accomplish
2. Start timer
3. Work until timer rings
4. Take a short break
5. Every 4 session, take a longer break

Focus Time will automatically switch between the work timer and the long/short break timers, as well as counting the number of sessions you've completed. You can select an activity and see a graph of how you're spending your time.

Focus Time is also available on iPhone and iPad. It supports synchronization using either Dropbox or iCloud so you can see your achievements on all your devices!

If you'd prefer a screen clear of clutter, you can close the Focus Time window and use the menu bar timer instead to start/stop your timer or switch activities.

What's New

Version 1.3

Fix issue where long break occurs during the third (instead of the fourth) cycle.

Sync does not work on MacOs Sierra

Nacho de Leon

I’m struggling with the sync feature for syncing with ipad and iPhone. This app used to work on earlier MacOS versions but now it’s useless for syncing. Since it has been almost a year since an update, has the developer abandoned the application?

A love-hate relationship

I’ll start by saying that I love this app. It’s quite a rewarding feeling to look back and see what I accomplished for the day and the pomodoro method is excellent at keeping me focused and on point. And, even better, I like Focus Time’s interface and accessibility. However, I cannot get the apps to sync between my phone and my two computers (one work, one home). I’ve been using dropbox and have tried really everything I can think of. If I try to disable the dropbox sync and try iCloud, nothing happens. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. The data is on my phone and Dropbox says it’s been updated everytime I sync from the phone. It just never makes the connection to either of my laptops. While this may seem like a small thing, it’s driving me nuts. Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated, since Focus Time’s support page has nothing in the way of contact.

Sync is broken —

Actually Sean

I read the reviews of older versions, and saw that many people mentioned syncing was broken… and as of today, there are no reviews for the new version posted earlier this month, and the update notes mentioned they fixed syncing.

I bought and installed based on that…

And it turns out that syncing definitely does not work.

I emailed the developer team, and they replied back pretty quickly that they had just submitted 1.2.1 to the app store and that should fix the issue.

That was a couple of days ago, and an update hasnsn’t showed up, yet. I know it can sometimes take a few days for Apple to approve updates… so I’ll be checking back over the next week for when it shows up, and to see if the update actually fixes the sync problem.

If it does? I’ll be editing my review and rating higher.

The IOS is fantastic. But so far, the desktop version is pretty much worthless to me if it doesn’t sync with the IOS app.
