✓ Install .ttf or .otf font files to the app document with iTunes Sharing.
✓ Select from preset text paragraphs or enter your own.
✓ Examine character details with glyph table and magnifying glass (hold glyph to show).
✓ Fullscreen mode for large font size or long paragraphs of text.
★ Instructions on Installing custom fons:

2. In "Apps" tab, select Font Tome in "File Sharing" list.
3. "Add..." or drag .ttf / .otf font files to the Documents.

A definite asset to design work
This app is a godsend for dealing with font-illiterate clients who say they want a certain font but have no idea which one. If they see one on a screen and I can set their logo or tag line with that font (on their premises), a light bulb goes off and they make a choice. No more print a sheet, This one? No. Print another one. This one?.............
The app I've needed since the iPad came out!
Don't know what the problem is with other reviewers having issues with installed custom fonts (custom meaning OT or TTF), but I have loaded a ton of Open Type and True Type fonts and have no display or lag problems. The instructions on the iTunes store state that after installing custom fonts the first time, you must restart the app. No problems. Instant display. Changed font size, scrolled from one custom font to the next, instant display.
Though better than several other font viewing apps, it is a very basic app with a slick design. The good parts however are overshadowed by the buggy. the primary concern of mine is that despite following the directions given for installing fonts to the app (not the system), I do not get an "installed fonts" tab but will see some of the fonts I installed listed under "system fonts." I've deleted the app, restarted, reinstalled, restarted, added fonts, restarted, opened the app and still nothing. Additionally, the letter tabs for fast searching could use a redesign - they're too small to really see where you're touching and I have no idea if I have fonts within the letter - so, fade out the letters where there are no fints, and perhaps magnify the letter in a similar fashion to viewing a character from a font.
It's worth the money to get the app, but only because Typo Base doesn't yet allow installing fonts.
It would be useful
if it didn't crash every five seconds on my iPad running 5.0.1.
After following the reset regimen offered in these reviews, it's still erratic (i.e. long pauses before switching between font lists, font titles superimposed on one another, the previously displayed font glyph set showing when another has been selected). Sometimes it crashes when scrolling through the list of fonts I added, other times it crashes when simply selecting a font. The interface seems nice nice enough, but if it can't be reliably used, what's the point? Am I the only one who's tired of "App Support" links that merely link to the devs website and offer no information but a sales link back to the app store?
