Like, almost love
I like keeping track of my calories. It does it nearly conveniently.
I like knowing the "grades" of the foods it's gives.
I suggest that you give the app a try.
When I first found and used the app a couple of years ago, it didn't have (or I didn't realize it had) a calorie counter. I just used it grocery shopping to grade & compare items before I bought them. Unfortunately, now I can't find THAT feature. (Scanned item & suggested alternative used to appear side by side on the screen.)
The downside to the calorie counting is that it's not as tied-in to restaurant items as it could be. I'm not sure if they've got to get someone to schmooze with the restaurant companies so the can access their database, or what. But other apps (Lose It) has this downpat, and it's awesome.
The final tweak they need to make is to get fooducate to connect with the health app so steps can be imported. There's a way to link & sync the two apps, and I've done that. But fooducate is still not receiving the steps info. Their other option would be to create their own steps counter in the fooducate app. Though I'd still prefer the app getting the info from the Heath app.
Even with these weaknesses that I hope they fix, I'm using the fooducate app solely for now. I'm one of those that need to use new apps to refresh my focus. I hope they fill these gaps.
Excellent and handy food tracking App.
I am a long time follower of the Lean for Life program by Cynthia Stamper Graff, president of the Lindora Institute, and this app is a convenient way to keep a daily action plan (DAP), in other words, a record of what I eat and drink, my weight, measurements, etc. I am on the go most of the time, and this app is much easier than writing things down on a DAP worksheet or going online to do it. I really love the nutritional information too. The charts are amazing and a great graphical depiction of my effort and progress.
This app is so helpful in so many ways for me. I've been using it for 2 weeks and have lost 10 pounds so far. It's great because it makes it so easy to see what you're putting in your body. It rates your food and actually tells you why it was rated that way and alternative choices if you need it. I recommended it to several people and they love it too. This app is literally changing my life. I love it.
