Master foreign numbers.

A simple tool to improve listening comprehension in your foreign language.

Why focus on numbers?

Numbers are just a small part of learning a language. But mastering them is useful for a couple reasons:

Numbers are everywhere and are getting them exactly right is very important! Whether it is at the market, with your friends, or at the tax office; catching the difference between 4, 40, and 400 can prevent a costly mistake!

Numbers serve as a good tool to improve listening comprehension.
Since learning the numbers themselves is pretty easy, they are easily used to train yourself to quickly hear and recognize words you already know.

Best way to learn numbers

This is essential tool for anyone learning a foreign language. I use it for Mandarin Chinese and it works great. It teaches you to understand numbers in many common formats, like prices and phone numbers. This app is important because learning numbers is a very different learning process than learning vocabulary or grammar. Flashcards are great for vocabulary, but it is tedious to make flashcards for every possible number. Most importantly, numbers are very often encountered in the real world as lightning-fast spoken prices, times, and phone numbers. It is essential to become comfortable with this high-stress context. Learning to be lightning fast with huge vocabularies may take decades, but with a well designed app like this, any student can become lightning-fluent in numbers much much faster!

Fun and Quick Way to Learn and Strengthen Listening Comprehension

This app is a very quick and really fun way to test my knowledge of the numbers in my second language, which is Turkish. I used to be quite fluent but haven't used my skills regularly for over a decade. I've been using Foreign Numbers for several weeks and it truly has helped me remember what I knew and strengthen my listening comprehension. Using the game mechanics makes it less language learning drudgery and more of a game, a fun opportunity to test myself and try to raise my score each time. I have noticed that my skills are already getting back to where they used to be which is good since I recently met some new Turkish-speaking friends and I would love to get back to fluency!

Great learning app

Numbers are so difficult in foreign languages, but in many ways they are one of the most important elements. This is the app you need to put in some serious practice. I had been putting random numbers with a google translate recording into Anki, but this is so much better.

It has a lot of different ways to practice your numbers, so you can certainly mix it up.

Definitely put this one in your language learning tool bag.
