Description

The Forgotten Nightmare is an all text adventure game. Going against modern game evolution, this game has no graphics at all (aside from the map). It is a playable story which uses your imagination to paint the pictures. It is not simply a multiple choice game but has the ability to accept full commands with seemingly endless and often comical responses.

This Christian themed story set in the not so distant future starts with an accident that causes you to lose all memory of not only where you are, but who you are as well. You find yourself in an abandoned town in Canada. But why? As you explore the area, the number of questions seem to mount while the number of answers seem to dwindle.

LOVED it

This was an extremely interesting game. Although I caught on to the 'plot twist' fairly early in the game, and realized the Christian tones, I kept playing because it was so enjoyable. I am an agnostic who is usually not a big fan of preachy stories and games, but I felt that the way this was presented wasn't an 'overload of preach'. While I can see rigid atheists not enjoying the game, anyone teetering on the edge of Christianity or a Christian would *probably* be able to appreciate the message. On to the next chapter!

An engaging mystery

With controls reminiscent of a text-based MUD, and the intriguing mystery of puzzles that brought memories of playing games like "Myst" and "Beyond Atlantis" to mind, The Forgotten Nightmare is an engaging and fun-to-play game with a strong basis in Christian beliefs and an excellent message of redemption.
The ending leaves me wanting to know what happens next, and I eagerly look forward to playing the next chapter of this series.

Religious Fiction

This was such an enthralling text adventure, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is based in an alternative universe that is every non-Christian's nightmare. I'm not a Christian, but the game was so interesting that I'm not even mad that it's actually just a missionary tool to introduce elementary Christianity to the layman. There is a message for people that need it and it's a clever way to go about it. If you happen to be a staunch atheist, though, prepare for a disappointment.
