Not what I was hoping for...
I was very excited to find a game from Big Fish that was entirely puzzle-based... Unfortunately, while I was hoping for something like Azada, Moonlight Sonatas is still 90% hidden object scenes (just with"clues" instead of a list.)
Not enough to keep my interest, but probably great for those that enjoy HO games.
Scenes are very repetitive, sometimes with the same "clues" being used multiple times. I believe there were only three "dollhouse" puzzles and a few repetitive music note puzzles... All other screens are hidden object scenes that cycle through rooms of the house over and over. They also get your excitement up for a locked room at the end, only for it to turn out to be... nothing. It is the lead in to the closing text.
Glad I got this one on sale.
Fun -- but can be tedious
I wish there were half stars... I'd give it 3.5. Okay. It is a riddle game. It asks riddles and you have to find them. That is all. There are no other type of puzzles to do. The story line doesn't even match what you're looking for. However, the riddles are fun and varied, and you do need to think about the answer.
So, it is a nice break from HO games and also isn't all occult or spooky...so if you're looking for some relaxing time with some slightly challenging puzzle-riddles, then I recommend. The graphics are sharp and play time seems to be somewhat long (or was I just a little bit bored so it seemed longer?).
Good for kids
Fun riddles and a non-violent storyline make for a game I enjoyed myself and would be happy to let my children play. (Although some might object to the mistress & child-out-of-wedlock plot points in a child's game.) The game would be improved by classical piano music during the gameplay--not just the cut scenes, and by a greater variety of puzzles, but the basic concept of deciphering a riddle in order to figure out what object you need for the HOS is a nice, thought-provoking, change. Blue Tea Games also produce very pretty graphics, which I heartily enjoy.
