FOTOMETER PRO is a light meter for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch and iPad 2.
It is one of the best companions for your Hasselblad, Rolleiflex TLR, Nikon/ Canon SLR... or any old film cameras, Lomo toy cameras and even DIY pinhole cameras !
FOTOMETER PRO supports reflected and incident mode of measurement, so you can stand far and point towards the object of interest or place it right next to the object of interest for measurement. The meter covers ISO value from 25 to 6400 with ⅓ EV stepping, and it covers aperture value from 0.95 to 1000 - allowing you to measure exposure value for a huge aperture expensive lens down to a home made pinhole camera !!!
After measuring the current luminance and adjusting the EV wheel to fine adjust light intensity for your object of interest - it is time to take the picture! We’ve integrated a count-down timer at the back of our meter, after everything is set, just click the timer button to start counting down - this feature is especially useful for pinhole photographers :)

Well worth it
Deff worth the money. Have been using this with my Nikon D90 and my Yashica Mat 124G. Works great. I manly us fuji velvia iso50 slide film and have had great results. Only occasionally does it overexpose but even then it by only 1/2 stop or less.
There are two cons I would like to mention. 1: the picture view window could be a bit bigger. Maybe in an up date you could click the window and go full screen, capture and image and the return to meter to run the settings and calculations. 2: I love the old school feel. But the shutter speed window can be a bit hard to read sometimes. Only occasionally. Would be neat to see a window on the right of the meter that displays the exact shutter speed being interpolated. Just so it's a bit more accurate. For this I would love to give 4.5 stares. But will settle for 4. If these changes where made I would easily give it 5 or 6:)
love it, can't wait to be using it,
Yet can not give a 5 stars, functionality could be better, my old analog light meter is slightly easier to dial in, and i'd have hoped with digital that it'd be easier to tell what settings you are actually at vs the dot marker system. being able to figure out what ISO you want to use would be wonderful, since i mostly shoot in low light situations.
but i highly recommend this app to every photographer with an iphone, and hope that updates only make it easier to use and more awesome.
should cost 10x as much
I was hoping someone would make this app for a while. I like to keep my manual rangefinder by my side for street photos. It's perfect to have a phone based meter that I can get an incident reading and then set my camera before raising it to my eye. Super useful and hundreds less than my handheld meter.
I would love to see a spotmeter version in the future maybe.
