Fractions can often be a hard concept for third graders. In this low cost app, students will be able to explore visual models for representing fractions both in two dimensional form as well as linear form. The app will easily slide into lesson plans in third grade as well as help students individually to keep up or catch up with their peers. Students can compare fractions in multiple ways, including common numerators. Teachers may recognize this app meets the following Common Core Standards:
NF 1. Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts; understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts of size 1/b.
NF 2. Understand a fraction as a number on the number line; represent fractions on a number line diagram.
