From first to worst
At the bottom, I left my original review, which was referring to versions 1.0 and 2.0 and their updates, so that you can see how good it used to be.
Ever since version 3.0, this app is terrible. Crashes nonstop on an updated iOS iPhone 6+ with NO programs running in be background. This is as good as it gets as far as not crashing, and yet it still does all the time.
Anytime a text comes in, or any other app needs to play audio and interrupt the music, the app crashes and will not resume where you left off. This is only a small example, but it is very fragile and will crash frequently.
This is not just from one or two times, I still like the music so I just deal with the frequent crashes. It has been this way for the past month and I use it every weekday.
Also, I bought this app when it first came out, for $2.99, and it seems to just have forgotten that. BS.
Below is my review from versions prior to 3.0 (rated five stars)
Love FM and have listened to them for over two years now. They play the freshest tracks, and have great music for partying, chillin, working, studying, whatever it is you do, there is some good tunes suitable to fit your mood. Great playlists and updated regularly. Dopest dope.
Wish there was a dedicated iPad app but nonetheless, it works with the iPhone version, which I also use all the time.
Crashes, NOT WORTH IT
Continuous playback is IMPOSSIBLE. Look elsewhere.
I've had FM for over a year now and it's getting worse. The app always crashes. After each song my app freezes, so I have to fast forward to the next song, even though it should naturally start playing.
It will automatically fast forward through tracks until you reach the end of the playlist. I will not have used it for days and select a playlist and get an error "our music license won't allow you to skip anymore tracks." Good music isn't worth this level of frustration. I use to love this app because of the music. Sadly I will be deleting it and looking elsewhere.
TURNS ON BY ITSELF!
I used to love FM. Great music and a reliable app. Now, as other users have said, it crashes nonstop and will sometimes tell you that you can't listen to anymore music because you've skipped too many tracks despite it being the first time you turned it on for the day.
In addition, it turns on randomly and starts playing music. This has been incredibly annoying as the app will just decide to start playing through my speakers. If your phone is on silent, too bad, FM doesn't care.
What a waste. I paid for this back when FM was actually good. Now I'd rather listen to two autistic monkeys trying to screw a doorknob.
