What's New in Version 0.9.4
Easy to use
Nice, simple interface
1.) Occasionally when switching between landscape and portrait mode the whole top bar disappears keeping you from navigating other feeds! It should be noted that it's not the fullscreen functionality which causes this. I use fullscreen option sometimes and I'm always able to revert back when I purposely put it into fullscreen mode. With this bug you can't revert back to standard mode.
2.) After using the "back" button when finished reading a feed the middle section doesn't respond to touches AT ALL. The Nav bar and bottom bar still recognize input, but you are unable to select any other feeds when this happens!
While this is overall a good app, it shouldn't be necessary to relaunch the application several times a day! Fix the bugs and it will be golden. Also, the bugs have been seen on my old iPhone as well as my new one, so it's not an isolated hardware incident.
Oldie but goodie
After looking through lots of alleged RSS readers for iOS, and finding many that punt their functionality to the now-defunct Google Reader or confuse the interface with irrelevant functionality, I saw this application. At first I was concerned by the fact that it hasn't been updated in a long time and by reports in some reviews of crashes, but I gave it a try.
It has a nice clean interface, doing what an RSS reader is supposed to do and nothing more. I've been able to add feeds and view items without any problems. It's reasonably fast, and I haven't seen any ads other than those in the feeds themselves. So far there have been no crashes. It's just a shame it hasn't been updated in over three years to insure compatibility with current OS releases.
Don't worry about the "over 17" warning. Apple seems to require that for any app that can access arbitrary web content.
BEST FREE READER. It seems like update 0.9.4 has fixed most of the crashing problems others complained about. The good: This is a great RSS reader. It is very capable - does multiple formats and supports wide (landscape) and tall views for easier reading. Even if you don't know the exact RSS feed address, you can visit the HTML page and it will AUTO DETECT the feeds present on the page! The bad: No folder structure for organizing feeds into categories. I wouldn't use the feature if it had it, but I've seen other RSS readers with this. Comments: It only updates the feeds if it is running. RSS readers need to update in the background and notify you when feeds have been updated. I haven't heard of any other readers (free or pay) doing this either, so maybe it just isn't possible, but it'd be a nice feature to add.
