French Rev is a FREE, first-of-its-kind iPhone app that unlocks bonus video, music, recipes and more from The French Revolution, a novel by Matt Stewart.

You love books—but want more than a static pile of paper! Where’s the bonus video? The exclusive videos? The soundtrack? And how can you read it on the go without reading on your computer or shelling out for an iPad?

French Rev to the rescue! Simply load the app and ZAP a picture of any page in the book (hardcopy or e-copy); the app will automatically load digital content associated with the story.

Every page is a new adventure! With a single ZAP, you might just find:

-Recipes for sensational cakes featured in the book

-Music featured in the story

-History of the actual French Revolution

-Exclusive author interviews

-A virtual tour of places featured in the book

-Oodles more

Think of it as DVD bonus features galore—for a printed book.

- ZAP: French Rev finds the perfect distance and focus your iPhone camera to ZAP a page in the novel

- Enjoy: view the webpages or videos you’ve ZAPPED in the built-in browser without leaving the app.

- Map: built-in Google Map shows where the action in the novel went down in real life

- Share: A cinch to tell friend via Facebook, Twitter or email

NOTE: This app only works in tandem with a copy of The French Revolution – you can buy a copy via http://matt-stewart.com or wherever terrific novels are sold.

And I thought QR codes were cool...

i thought qr codes were cool because they link you to online content. but with this app and the book all i do is take a picture of any page and i get to see stuff on my iphone that the author wants me to see like interesting videos or music or web sites related to what he wrote on the page. how the heck do they do that without a barcode? this is waaaaaaay better that qr codes.

You can "zap" an iPhone photo of any page in the book and it spits out content like webpages/videos etc. I was skeptical at first, but it actually works. I even zapped a page that gave me a video of the author at one of the SF locations that was the inspiration for a major scene in the book. Seems like a good way to bridge old fashioned books and new media....just wait till the Twilight set gets a hold of this technology.

This is cool, try it

They embedded links into the book, what a neat idea. Try it!
