What's New in Version 2.3.61
Minor bug fixes.
Great program, great service, great layout, huge disappointment!
The layout of the program is wonderful however streaming on the program has gotten worse over time since I started using it. I don't know if it has something to do with net neutrality but I noticed that most of the things I watch will start to play then stop and I keep pressing the play button and it stops immediately there after. I used to Internet connections, my home Wi-Fi connection runs at 105 down and 10 up and my LTE connection runs at about 10 down and five up however I still have the same problem. I do notice that it does play a little bit better on LTE than it does on my media COM cable service so I don't know if it's being affected by net neutrality or not. If it would work the way it did when I first started using it I would be more than willing to pay for the service because I do like the layout and the way it's set up and the way it works.
no portrait mode and sharing requires others to get this app
I love the idea of this app, but the execution has problems that make me want to delete it. First, no portrait mode. This is particularly annoying when I follow a shared link from Frequency in another app like Twitter which opens the app on my iPad--in portrait mode. So, everything is squished, the video doesn't play and, worst of all, it seems to be stuck in portrait mode. Second, when I share a link to a video, rather than just linking to the source video, the link directs users to download the app. That makes it a pain for every person who clicks on a link I share. Not cool. Third, why can't I delete Russia Today as a channel? I can delete all other channels, but the RT icon is the only icon that doesn't have a little "x" button in the upper left corner. This is all too much of a hassle, sadly, so the app is getting the big D--Deleted.
Off to a good start
It was easy to add the channels I wants but after that it wasn't so clear. I had trouble finding the programs I wanted on those channels and was never able to watch a full episode. I suspect the app will let you do that but in the few cases where I found a link to watch a full episode it didn't work. Maybe it just needs to be more obvious.
Once I get to the channel I'd like to be able to find a program by name or by the time that it is to be aired.
