Ratings and Reviews
Downloaded specifically to avoid using a browser
Just downloaded this app because I wanted to use something that was specifically for watching netflix at 1080p. If you’re reading this, you may or may not be aware that most browsers, i.e. Internet Explorer, Chrome - do not support 1080p playback from netflix. I believe it’s something to do with not having certain rights. Anyway, this program plays movies from netflix at 1080p. You can see the difference vs playing it on a regular browser and as a bonus you can use it for other services too. I’ve been using it for a whole 15mins and I can honestly say this is a great app to put all those services in one place for your mac. Get it, it’s free and it works.
Works great, responsive developers
I found this when I was looking for a way to get my Plex installation working with Picture In Picture (PIP) display. It works well, and when I emailed the developers with a feature request (saving a history of custom URLs, so I didn't have to re-enter my Plex server URL after switching over to Netflix), they responded within a couple days, and had an update adding this feature within a week or two. Quite happy with this little gem!
Downloaded this app a few weeks ago and it worked FABULOUSLY! Hence, my original rating of 5 stars.
This past week it’s been all about “Whoops, something went wrong…” unexpected errors, asking me to reload the page and try again. 😢
Nothing at all will play in the app, and this app was so awesome that I now have absolutely no interest in going back to watching things in a browser window.
I’ll happily restore my higher rating once the issue sorts itself out, but a non-functioning app (even one previously deemed wonderful) deserves no more than two stars. Please fix! 🙏🏼
Edit: I believe that the errors may only be occurring on things I’ve asked to “resume” (as opposed to beginning something anew), as I’ve just tried loading something unseen and it’s actually playing fine. Therefore, I’ll change my rating to three stars for the time being. I love the app, but hate that it won’t allow me to finish things later.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
