Need a great cheese app for your iPhone or iPad? The Fromage app is an excellent guide for cheeses made throughout the world. A “must have” for all connoisseurs of fine foods.
Each cheese entry features artistically presented cheese photos, historically narrated flavor descriptions, and suggested best choices for complementary wines. You can add your own cheeses to the standard library and attach personal notes about any of the cheeses.
If you’re a classically trained chef, professional party planner, cheese buyer, or just plain cheese lover, grab Fromage, your favorite wine, and experience the wonderful and historic flavors of cheese.
Fromage comes with the ability to create personal cheese notes, rate cheeses from 1 to 5 stars, add cheeses to your favorite lists (Try, Buy, or Favorites categories), record tasting impressions with up to 70 tasting keywords, and search the cheese library.
You can also enter your own cheeses (including photos) and list those cheeses automatically in the new “My Additions” category. There is also a “Share” feature so cheeses can be sent (via e-mail) to friends or to the developer for inclusion (see copyright note below) in future versions of Fromage.
Internet or Wi-Fi connection is not required for program use (great for remote locations or when no data plan is in use).

The language is primarily in English for the cheese descriptions with French, Spanish, and German available for the application controls.

What's New in Version 5.1
The cheese library was revised to reflect changes in our cheese supplier affiliations. New cheeses were added to include a few suggested cheeses from fellow Fromage users. Corrected a bug when sharing a cheese.
Ok - Could Use Some Tweaks
I'm glad it exists, but it could be improved. First, there should be more information about the cheeses, specifically how long it's been aged, whether the milk has been pasteurized, whether it's a bloomy rind (for example), etc.. Also, the libraries need to be expanded. Many that I look for are not on the list (like Sbrinz). However, I like that you can add new entries. Also, some of the entires contain inaccurate information, like stating that the cheese is from a country that it obviously is not from (i.e. stating that Oaxaca is from the US). All in all, it's decent but could use a few substantial improvements.
Best of the bunch!
There are many cheese apps available, but this one, IMHO is the best by far. Not only does it provide basic info and color photos within its own cheese-cyclopedia, it allows you to add YOUR OWN cheeses and comments, and that is what it comes down to: do YOU like the cheese or not, and how would YOU describe it.
Bought this app and certainly shows and does what's it was designed to do. Would like the ability to increase the picture size and add notes cleaner, like specific wines users have paired. All in all a must have app.
