Brilliant Tribute to Galaga
I've played many shmup games, and Galactic Nemesis is by far my favorite. I've sunk countless hours into this super-addictive and rewarding game. The developer obviously knows how to make a quality iOS title, and is still maintaining it with updates (the latest adds tons of Game Center achievements, a whole new set of levels, and new music).
The graphics and gameplay are spot-on. I literally can't think of a single bad thing to say about this! The levels each have their own unique background, and the scoring system really keeps you motivated to keep improving. Also, there are special goals that reward extra in-game currency If completed. The currency is used to buy and upgrade new and better ships, making your next run a little easier. I've gifted Galactic Nemesis out to many of my friends hoping they'll give it the time it deserves.
Simply put, this is the best retro shooter I've played on the App Store. Well worth the low asking price. Buy it once and play it forever - no gimmicks, just straight-up awesomeness all around.
One of the best SHMUPS on the AppStore
If you even remotely like Galga style games, you will love this one. Pixel art, controls, and sound are all perfect. You can tell a lot of love went into making this game. Highly recommend.
Update: Absolutely loving the update for this. It's gotten to the point where I am starting to compare every new shmup game to Galactic Nemesis. I honestly can't find a single flaw in it. The pixel work is great, catchy "old school" BGM, plenty of content, it's all there. I've noticed the dev is very active in gaming forums and listens to all feedback. You definitely can't go wrong with this one. My 5 star review still stands!!

Great Time Killer
It is a good game to kill time with but it is not Galaga or Galaxian. But it is similar, however you do control the gun as it is automatic. You just control where ship goes. Shields and other things are clunky as you have to stop firing to activate them which means you aren't in control of your ship for a brief moment. That sometimes leads to your death and you get to start levels all over. And that gets a little old after a bit.
