Ratings and Reviews
It’s ok, but nothing worth your time
This game is decent, it has some nice features, but also a lot of bad features like the timers and the fact that mech battles are way to hard. I can easily go through the entire campaign with the ship, but the mech must get up close, and when you are up against enemies that are both faster than you, and destroy your shields like butter, it’s just a waste of time to attempt the mission. That’s really the only thing holding me back, not to mention that the only reason to level your ship and mech is to get another bot, which takes too long with the way the game is set up. How are you supposed to both grind out upgrading your ship and mech, if at the same time you have to wait on a 1 hour times to get a relic opened. And on top of that, depending on if you have the ship or mech varies what the bot does. So if you have the ship, all the bots get right up in your face, but if you have the mech, they all run away so you can’t hit anyone without taking a decent amount of damage.
Great Game, Terrible Timers
Super fun game, the controls in particular are terrific! Maneuvering feels responsive and the stick/button layout is really nice. The art style is fun and has some Gundam vibes which is a plus for me.
But the timers. And the bot battles. Which are on timers. Everything but campaign missions are on a timer which has limited my play time to a couple 2-5 minute sessions a day. I would much rather pay $5 once and be able to play without waiting for multiple timers to reset.
The bot battles are broken in their current state, I’ve never lost a round even on higher levels by simply staying in one place and holding the fire button. Additionally, I’m not sure what purpose they serve other than to give you small amounts of in game currency so you can speed up the bot battle timer and do it all again.
This isn’t GALAK-Z
A bit of a sell out! This is nothing like the original, only in looks. The charm is gone and the intense combat is gone. You can’t even transform from ship to robot mid combat which was part of the fun and strategy. Now you choose either one depending on mission requirements.
The enemies are massive bullet sponges and have godlike accuracy whilst you’ll struggle to get in good hits as enemies move erratically. The difficulty spikes hits you quick. I managed to get some upgrades but still barely made it out of many levels. The worst are the shotgun ships. Regardless of what you’re piloting they get in your face and blast away your shields then relentlessly hunt you to finish you off. You just don’t have the equipment to handle them unless you start paying. What I do like is that the controls are good for a touch device, but that is it.
The game is clearly aimed at you spending money, and I won’t mind if they just made it more like the original. I spend quite a bit of money on FEH because it keeps the charm what made it so popular whilst being a mobile title.
I might come back if the updates are good enough.
