No Apple TV? Fancy paint job, fun play, weak longevity.
So I guess this game is never coming to Apple TV? What a way to get our hopes up with the preview game and then not release the full version.
The game is seriously fun to play. Fans of GOF2 and such will love how the maneuvering has been elevated. However, the gameplay is too repetitive after a while. Plus, why am I constantly waiting for server??? I have a great ISP, but those times when the game hangs, I have to close and reopen. How often does a game with no multiplayer or in-game downloads have to talk to the internet?
As for being repetitive...
Yeah, you progress through bosses, but it's just the same thing over and over without the rich storyline, trading, and rpg elements of GOF2. Without that stuff, the tricks get tired after a while. Especially after a super easy first act that gets so much harder in the second act. The second act is where Fishlabs probably starts raking in the dough because suddenly a pissant scout ship is able to take out your heavy-armor ship and those life cycles start getting hovered. It just goes from too easy to hard too fast. Again, the main thing missing, though, is the extra ventures for profit and play in GOF2 that are missing here. Glad it's finally out, but really hope there will be an expansion that brings back the full universe.
Low skill game
With gof 1, fishlabs made an unforgettable game. The game started simple but grew to be harder as you progressed through the game. But throughout the whole time, it was progressable at your own pace without the need to pay excessive amounts of cash to progress. Gof2 was what I would consider the pinnacle of the entire series, expansion packs were amazing and the graphics itself and the overall gameplay was simply amazing and it was amazing to unlock each ship as more became available. Again it wasn't a pay to win game because if you understood how to make money appropriately, you could progress at your own pace and rather quickly with an indent storyline. GOF3, in short, is a mess. It is so against progress that you can't piece together parts and buy weapons as you did before. Instead, you unlock them and require missions to unlock parts. The missions are easy but the boss is just on a different tier and without appropriate credits, and the inability to upgrade your ship higher, you literally get one or two spotted by the boss. Very money driven by making ships purchasable and also weapons! It was fun while it lasted, but sadly this game has gone to the dirt. I was looking forward to this game too..
Not the gof we know and love
I'm disappointed in the devs seriously I mean they just ruined the series while I do like the graphics every thing else is a downgrade like there's no open world aspect and every thing is a grind to level stuff up and stuff that cost currency that can only be earned by real money is everywhere I hate this game I'm a long time player of GOF2 and 1 love them both in fact I'm still hoping they make the original 64 bit compatible but this game is nothing like original two it feels like some Japanese company ripped off GOF2 and only wanted money and no enjoyment and this one feels a lot more immature especially the robot companion and don't get me started on how hard it is to earn ships don't waste your time with this version get GOF2 if you want some fun I still support this company and have bought the expansions on GOF2 and kaamo club but unless you make a new game that isnt p2w or make original GOF 64bit compatible i don't believe I'll continue to support y'all sorry my review is so harsh but it's true and I believe this is a huge step down
