Poorly Designed

I had hopes for this app, but was sorely let down. I would hardly call memory usage of 950MB lightweight. That's 300MB above what Adobe InDesign uses. Ridiculous. Other disappointments include only being able to play files GarageTunes finds on the system, inability to sort in useful ways (try finding a particular album by one artist...if you have a large library, it probably won't take more than 10 or 15 minutes to find it), and making any change to what is included/excluded from the library results in a beachball for a few minutes, frequently resulting in having to force-quit the app. Why is it so difficult to make a simple player that will accept a dragged-and-dropped folder and start playing? Even if that's too complicated, isn't it common courtesy to ask the user what directories to include rather than having to exclude unwanted directories after the fact? I'll be uninstalling this bloated, inconsiderate thing immediately.

works well

I found this app to work fantasticlly well. Scans for only the available music files and displays them them for use. Most of my music lives on an external wile some lives on my macbook - so while itunes displays a list of all of your files, available or not, garagetunes displays only files available. It uses about 60mb footprint of resources on my system and accesses my on board and huge gig external librarys quite fast considering it's scanning a giant amount.
