Fixed in 2.0.4. Super handy again! Previously: No support for iPhone X yet!

App worked reliably with my old iPhone 6, but since upgrading to the iPhone X, the device is invisible over Bluetooth, and cannot be paired or connected. Same problem may exist with the 8 series. Fix this, Garmin!

Pity, because it was super handy, for Nav and Alexa, playing well with other audio sources, unless you are Navigating somewhere with it, in which case there is no way to mute the vocal prompts and it continuously steps on what ever you are listening to! Fix that, Garmin!

The Nav algorithm was very poor routing around traffic- I am still using Waze.

Works Sometimes

Great Ideal . However after using Garmin Speak since Dec 26 I have decided that the device just isn’t ready for prime time
Setup and install were easy no glitches at all. After using the device for a few week I’ve experienced a few issues.
1. From time to time looses Bluetooth connection
2. Alexa can’t hear you if you drive with your window down.
3. Alexa will not respond when asked a question.
4. Was told by Garmin Tech support that I needed to remove device from vehicle when not in use that is wasn’t intended to be left in vehicle when not in use.
5. Drains vehicle battery if left in vehicle.
No way to turn device off Garmin states the way you shut the device off by holding the power button down for 2 sec however this just puts the device in sleep mode hence still drawing power from your battery.

If I had purchased this device myself I would have returned it for a refund. But since it was a gift guess I’am stuck with it.

A few big issues

Very slow to respond when you ask questions back to back and sometimes shows a red phone icon meaning it can't connect. Also there is no support for "drop in" functionality which is one of the most important features of the echo. It will also break existing connections and configurations around your car stereo head units Bluetooth capabilities to play music or answer calls from your phone. They now default to the small garmin speak.
