Your Location on Their Servers

Disaster of a privacy policy. They will not allow you to keep any of your data locally. All information including personally identifiable information and location tracking data must be kept on their servers. They will not even allow you to look at your data without logging in. If you try to export your data, they will not allow it and will only send you a link to look at our data on their servers. Now go ahead and take a look at their privacy policy. I don't think I've ever seen a privacy policy quite like this one. You agree to let them sell personally identifiable information to any company that might buy them in the future. You also agree to let them or any of their partners market to you based on personally identifiable information, location data, etc. A few ads is ok, as the developers need to make money, but this level of selling information and marketing is just greedy. I'm surprised that a policy like this one is even allowed on the app store. Fuelly bought the old gas cubby, deleted it, and used the name for their own app. If you liked gas cubby, do not upgrade. If you're just now looking for a gas repairs tracking app, I'd suggest that you keep looking. There are a few decent ones out there.

Terrible

Updating often is a nice trick to get all of the negative reviews wiped from the current reviews; notice they're updating this a whole lot... Went from a reliable, intuitive app to a bubblegum-looking data miner. Forces you to enter ALL identifying information about the vehicles you had previously put into Gas Cubby. Tricks you to agree to upload all your data to the Cloud under the pretense of sending you an email backup (then they only send you a link to sign in to view your data). Pushes you hard to allow location tracking. So now they know exactly what car you drive, all gas/service details you've ever entered, and where you are at all times. Takes forever to scroll to the gas brand. And they say in their Terms that they sell your info.

Invaluable Resource

I could talk for hours about how useful this Gas Cubby/Fuelly is to me but I will cut to the chase. I track five cars in my fleet, and do all my own maintenance on them. Without this app/tool I would have to spend hours just to keep up with all the work that needs to get done. This app keeps it all in one spot. The family gives me their gas receipts with their cars' mileage written on them, I enter it in, and the app lets me know what and when it's due for service. Win, win, win.
