This app is so much worse than the original. It’s less intuitive, it’s choppy, it loads way too much, it looks worse, and fingerprint scanning doesn’t work. I have an iPhone 8+ and it says it doesn’t support fingerprint scanning. Absolutely horrendous, whoever decided to switch these apps should be castrated. The old app is so much better by comparison. It was complete with actual animations for each interaction, making navigation fluid, fast, intuitive, and unimpeding. The only animation I’ve come across in the new one is the ever-present loading screen which appears after every single button press, which making the entire experience choppy, frustrating, slow, and unbearable. I can’t believe I have to use actual button animations as a point in this. That is something that should be standard across all apps. I also like how you have your own employees give it 5-star reviews to lessen the overwhelmingly negative response. This is another classic example of a faceless corporation trying to fix something that isn’t broken, and breaking it in the process. How did this even get accepted? Did you have anyone look at this? This fails at the most basic of levels; it is unacceptable in every way. I can imagine some idiot up in corporate rushing this out and releasing it before it even had a chance to be looked at. Do you even have a quality assurance devision?
Don’t even bother trying to fix this with updates, just go back to the old one, the one that actually works.

The loading screen is an issue, along with the overall speed of the app, that we are actively working on. We moved to this new app so we could grow to new features in the future, which the old app wasn't going to support. Something is better than nothing
Where to begin on the horrible app... The login and loading screen takes well over 2 minutes to load properly and even had the “loading” screen still as I could see my accounts pulled up. The app makes it look like a scam because of how slow, blocky and such a bad design it is. If I didn’t see my accounts listed there I would’ve thought this was a phishing site and app. The fingerprint feature didn’t stick from the setup for me as I had it work once and then went back to the signing in feature. The only plus is they shut off the ads which seemed very malicious and click-bait when it first came out earlier this week. As I understand they are working on the slow lagging of the app, but can we get something less scammy looking and more clean like the previous app? I feel less safe even with all the “new security features” just with the late 90s early 2000s web browser design. Please make some major improvements as this push really should’ve been thought of more as a testing phase for feedback than an absolute full on launch. To me it seems like this was just an after thought and something is better than nothing approach to a better way of life. I think I can agree with most saying a better way of life may be an app that is not circa early 1999.

This app replaces Gate City's old app. It does match the new look of the website and mobile site, but as a mobile app, is an absolutely terrible experience. It is exponentially more difficult to navigate and takes far longer to move throughout the app. The most used sections of the site are harder to find, the buttons, text, and other elements within the app are not mobile friendly and they are hard to tap and locate. Moving back and forth between pages is not intuitive and does not match the standards that are in place throughout iOS, such as back buttons on the upper left corner and buttons on the bottom to navigate between pages. The app has also integrated the ability to manage a debit card, similar to the CardValet app. However, even though I can set up the alerts, the notifications can only come through text messages or email, not even through the app. This is one of the worst app updates I have ever seen. For a bank such as Gate City who is normally on the leading edge of technology, this is a major step backwards. While I understand this update was in line with other updates across the system designed to increase security, the user experience is horrible.
