Description
Gboard is a new keyboard from Google for your iPhone. It has all the things you would expect from a great keyboard — GIFs, emojis, and Glide Typing — plus Google Search built in. No more app switching; just search and send, right from your keyboard.
Search and send anything from Google:
• Nearby stores and restaurants
• Videos and images
• Weather forecasts
• News and articles
• Sports scores
• And anything else you’d search on Google
GIFs — Search GIFs for the best reaction
Emoji Search — Find the perfect emoji, faster
Glide Typing — Type faster by sliding your finger from letter to letter
Privacy
We know the things you type on your phone are personal, so we’ve designed Gboard to keep your private information private.
What Gboard sends to Google:
• Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results.
• Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to let us know which features are used most often and to help us understand problems if the app crashes.
What Gboard doesn’t send to Google:
• Other than your searches, Gboard doesn't send anything you type to Google, whether it’s a password or chat with a friend.
• Gboard will remember words you type to help you with spelling or to predict searches you might be interested, but this data is stored only on your device. This data is not accessible by Google or by any apps other than Gboard.
• If you’ve turned on contacts search in Gboard search settings, this allows Gboard to search the contacts on your device so you can easily share. None of these queries are sent to Google.
What's New in Version 1.1.0
Gboard is now available globally in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal) and Spanish (Spain). We’ve also added some new features:
• Smart GIF suggestions — joining text, emoji, and search suggestions, you’ll see GIF suggestions while typing. Try typing “wow!” to see it in action
• Personalize the look of Gboard — now you can choose a darker keyboard or add your own image to use as the background of Gboard. Open the Gboard app and tap “Theme” to get started

Improvement in the new features
The new dictionary feature remembers words that you type even if at first you have to type it out instead of using the Glide text and it tries to correct that word. This is a great addition. Changing the theme is great and enabling search from anywhere is useful. I haven't had any glitches or crashes using the keyboard yet. Two drawbacks I've noticed are that even though I changed my keyboard settings to have this listed first, it doesn't always default and when typing it does cover fields when you get to the bottom of a page. It also isn't available to type passwords but I assume that's Apple's choice that can't be overridden. Last two suggestions, add in a voice feature for when you want to type something long or if you're having a hard time spelling a word, and second, remembering commonly successive words and show them first in the next word option at the top.
Need some work
This is a great app,but... When I entered my iTunes password, there was no button for a next keyboard. So, I could not use the G board when I was writing my iTunes password for this review. In fact… I am not using the G board to write this review! This is an OK app. Please change this. There is also one other thing that I would like to mention. There is no button for dictation which makes it very slow for me to type as visually impaired. This is a great app. I figured out how to make it compatible with my notes almost right away and all of my other keyboard. The G board is an OK keyboard. This is why I am writing it only two stars. But I haven't had any crashes with this app and I have only used it for a couple of minutes. But, I have learned a lot about that keyboard sense when I downloaded it from the App Store. It has Emoji and gifts, you can switch it back to the iPod/iPhone/iPad keyboard as well. Which is… I am typing on my iPod's keyboard.
Crashes Frequently, Plus Annoyances
This keyboard frequently crashes, by which I mean that when I'm typing, the keyboard will vanish and the basic iPhone keyboard will pop up in its place. I've even set the gboard as my default and tried turning off the basic iPhone keyboard altogether to no avail. On occasion when it crashes, it refuses to bring up any keyboard, no matter how many times I tap the screen to start typing, forcing me to close whatever app I'm using in order to reset the keyboard. The only thing that I enjoy is swipe and the gif search. But swipe and the gif search are wonky too. Swipe on this keyboard is far more touchy than on my previous Nexus phone; the amount of times "the" turns into "there" is absurd. And the gif search makes you have to visit the actual website the gif is from in your web browser if you want to get the gif in its full size, otherwise the gif that it pastes is ridiculously shrunken.
