This Vocabulary Dictionary uses short video clips to explore the most common words in the English language. Learners see and hear words used in a variety of situations, from very serious to laugh-out-loud funny. Particularly useful for visual and auditory learners.

✓ Explore videos alphabetically and learn words on your own time anywhere
✓ Discover a variety of categories ranging from sports and art to food and beverage
✓ Includes over 400 entertaining and professionally made videos
✓ Perfect for adult learners and English-language learners.

In the GCF Vocabulary Dictionary, everyday words are defined through the use of animations, situations, and guided imagery that help promote comprehension. The learner hears the word read aloud, hears the word used in sentences and paragraphs, and views film and images that define the word.

The goal of the GCF Vocabulary Dictionary is to help adults at all levels become more proficient readers. Originally created to assist native-English speaking adults in literacy proficiency, these videos are also ideal for learning English as a second language. As these videos are tailored to an adult audience, they use realistic imagery and situations; the GCF Vocabulary Dictionary may not be appropriate for use in literacy education with younger populations.

Additional vocabulary videos will be added in future versions.

This video dictionary is a part of's adult Reading Program. Time warp

The idea is great but why are all the videos 40 years old? Kids could relate to this a little better if the videos were more related to their lives!

iPad version?

I wish this would work on the iPad. I downloaded it but it doesn't format for the iPad screen.
