Worst app I have ever downloaded
The remote feature was an interesting aspect of getting the GE Monogram double wall oven. It sounded convenient to be able to preheat the oven while in the way back home from work. In the end it swayed us to get the GE.
Enter reality: the app design, the UI, the functionality and the entire thought process behind the architecture is completely messed up. It seems like this was quickly put together by a High School student as her/his first project. Logging in takes ages, if it connects at all. Our wifi works very well with every other product we have. Can't find appliance, can't connect....
How shameful of GE to even mention this as a product capability, a company who actually makes some pretty decent stuff. It certainly seems like they don't care. If you don't know how to do this, hire someone who does or outsource it.
Well, we will vote with our pocketbook, last GE product we've ever bought. There are comparable alternatives available, same price level, give or take a bit.
Junk *Updated* Not junk
It worked after initially set up once. But now crashes once the stove is enabled. This is by far the worst app ever written and no updates since March. GE and this company of theirs Brillion has no interest in fixing this horrible app. I love the GE induction range this worthless app is supposed to work with. Moral if you're buying a range or stove mainly to be controlled remotely don't do it. This app is total junk.
Finally got this app to work. I deleted the app and downloaded it again. Once I started it, it updated my range's software. After that the app hasn't crashed. My new rating is 4 out of 5 stars as it does what it claims.
Terrible, terrible, stay away!
Wish I could give this zero stars. Having to push the Remote Enable button on the appliance was annoying enough (also, you can't just push it once to enable and it just stays on - if you open the oven door at any point, Remote Enable is turned off). But then when GE recently started requiring you to sign in to even use the app, it got exponentially worse. Having to sign in to something to just turn my oven on? That is just asinine. But I actually tried three separate times to register (stupid me), and each time the registration failed for some reason, even though I had all fields filled in. I took great pleasure in deleting this useless app!
