Excellent piece of finding multiple duplicates fast

I have used duplicate finder for a few years and trust its findings. It has not deleted anything which affected my current profile settings, and definitely speeds us your large file transfers 2GB more easily. I notice it gets stuck when it finds 50GB or more; it could be my 16GB is inadequate for the task. I would also recommend using their other piece of software I use confidently, Clean my Drive; I have found a trick I would like to share 1. use duplicate finder first, then boot up clean my drive, and use the clean the trash button to empty the apple trash can much quicker; however, if you use this process, you can not go back to any more operations on duplicate finder, but the only option left is newest file and that usually is less than 3-5% of the duplicate population.
Use these software products together for a much more powerful and quicker maintenance of duplicate and system junk.

One of my top 100 favorite things in the world...

This is wonderful! It has an algorithm that lets it compare multiple files, docs, pics, excel sheets etc. and find duplicates—no comparing dates, times, sizes, opening things up and trying to figure out if it’s an exact duplicate or not. I have LOTS of duplicates, especially entire files, and this thing does what it says it does and fairly quickly. I had to organize, reduce, and compile 10 years of medical records, chart notes, scans, labs etc. and this little app made several days work into a matter of hours. I love it! I love it as much as my old toyota tacoma truck! I love it as much as… well, to be honest, since it’s in the top 100, I love it as much as reading and swimming (but not as much as my children).

Only complaints: while it’s a cool little animation of files being shredded, it’d be nice to not have to click remove, remove, and then done—if you could just hit enter, enter, enter and if it would work like that, i’d love it as much as my firstborn.

Finds only exact duplicate file names.

I had thousands of songs and albums from years of adding to iTunes for multiple PCs, iPads and iPhones. I wanted to pull all of the songs off of all of the devices and store them in one place. I ended up with 45 Gig of songs and I knew that there were a ton of duplicates. I had almost 7,000 files to go through and hundreds of folders, so thought that I’d look for a program that could find the duplicates. I bought Gemini and ran to find duplicates. It only found about 100. Those were files that had the exact same name. Gemini did not compare the physical file, so most of the duplicates were not ever detected.

I ended up using iTunes to find the duplicates. I had to load in the 7000 files then used iTunes duplicate finder. It was not only able to find the files that were physically the same, but also grouped them into the same folder. Then it allowed me to delete the duplicates.

Needless to say, this was $10 wasted
