Great for lyrics but...
I must admit this is my go to app for lyrics. Any time an album drops and a song I come here to read along. However, they've added new features such as videos. At first they were great you were able to dive deeper into the music. Yet, here recently ads have been popping up on the videos. This is understandable. I know ads help pay for the website and what not. My only problem is that the video you want to watch keeps playing while the ad plays. Which leaves a few seconds of video that you miss because the ad was playing. Once this is fixed, I would rate this app 5 stars. It's just really annoying to watch a video and an ad play over the video.

As an artist I use SoundCloud to annotate my own lyrics, and also use it extensively to look up lyrics to hundreds of songs. Sometimes a little buggy, and at times it doesn't show which specific song I'm currently playing (it's 1 or 2 songs behind the current one) so I have to search for the song instead, but those are just minor things. Above all, I have been a supporter of Genius since they were split into separate Geniuses (Rap, Poetry, etc.) and I am proud to say that I only use them for any lyric searching.

Rap genius knows what song you have playing when you open it up and has the link available in the now playing section to see song info the "story" of the song or performer and lyrics all in one easy to scroll and read section. You can look up albums and go trough song by song with out having to look up each one. There's so many great things about this app. If you love hip hop or just lyrics download now.
