Swift Deposit allows you to conveniently and securely deposit checks from your mobile device, any time of the day 24/7. Simply take a picture of the front and back of a check and the funds are deposited to your account.
To get started, download the application. Then sign on to home banking from a computer and enable Swift Deposit. From there, click on the app and enter your account number as your Username and Password that is established for home banking.
Georgia United does not charge a fee for the use of the service. However, you should check with your mobile service provider to see if any usage rates may apply. This service is available for qualified members and some limitations may apply.
By downloading the application and enabling the service you are agreeing to the terms and conditions as set forth in the Account Agreement and Electronic Funds Disclosure.
When it works, it's great - very convenient! However, the issues are quite annoying. Frequently the camera will bug out and not come back on for the second pic (of the back of a check), and you have to start all over again...multiple times. Sometimes I even give up and wait until another day. Also, today I entered my login credentials, the processing sign spun a bit and then went away, and it just stuck on the sign-in page. I checked to be sure I had the latest version, and also that my wireless was working properly. I had to delete the app, turn the phone off and on again, and reinstall the app before I was able to make a deposit. Stability is obviously an issue here; please address that!
For a smallish credit union, they've done really well with this app. It looks nice, and has a lot of the features of the online banking site. You can isolate pending transactions and even use the bill-pay feature, which I've never done but I assume is useful. It lets you see the images of your cleared checks, which is also pretty nice. I just wish it could add or edit the manual transactions and checks I add on the website. They show up, but always with a balance and available balance of $0.00. That's not helpful.
Needs self-update/auto-update feature.
I have version 1.0, which still functions fine for me, but I received an email from Georgia United that the app had some bugs and I need to download a new version. My iPhone shows no updates available. I guess they want me to delete the old version and download a totally new version instead them issuing a simple update. As long as the old version works for me, I’m not bothering.
