WARNING: HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!
Get ready for geoSpark – a collaboration between the acclaimed developers of geoDefense and Harbor Master. It’s the fastest game on the App Store!
An assortment of colorful neon Sparks are flying across the screen, and it’s your job to prevent any two different Sparks from colliding. Chain similar Sparks together by dragging them with your finger. The more Sparks you eliminate at a time, the more points you get.
But be careful! As your chain gets longer, your finger becomes a gravity well that draws all nearby Sparks inwards, adding even more entropy to the mix.
Be on the lookout for bonus Sparks with special powers – they’re the key to mega success. See how high you can score, then brag to your friends via OpenFeint!
geoSpark: all the spectacle and style you expect from the geoDefense series, with the addictive, casual gameplay of Harbor Master.
Thanks from Critical Thought Games and Imangi Studios!
What's New in Version 1.1.1
- 4 new Sparks with all new behaviors!
- A new rare Special Spark (1UP)
- Spark spawns have significantly more variety to them now!
- New High Score Leader Board specifically for v1.1
- New "longest chain" Leader Board
- OpenFeint Achievements! Earn OpenFeint Points!
- More sound effects (and improvements to some old ones)
- Backdrop "red shifts" as it speeds up
- Slightly modified the Slow Special Spark (slows a % now)
- Some bug fixes
- Smaller download size! Yup... we squeezed it!
This version adds a lot to the later game, for all you reaching for the big scores.
The new sparks provide a wicked twist on gameplay that you'll have to discover as you go.
The new 1UP Special Spark comes out rarely, but it gives you the ability to survive a clash and keep going!
We honed the gameplay even better this version through careful balancing of randomness with difficulty progression. This is particularly significant in games where you survive to see some of the new Spark behavior!
These geo- games have gone downhill fast. The first defense game was about the best I'd ever payed on my itouch. Challenging fun and well designed. Geoswarm was close to that but too hard and frustrating. Still a good game. This spark game is just stupid. It's not addictive at all, there's no strategy involved, it's just mindless dragging and pointing. It gets hard only because the screen gets so cluttered not because of any design cleverness, just due to more crap showing up. Really disappointing. And don't believe the reviews that say it's a great time waster for 99 cents. Not true. It's a great money waster. Instead try something like sneezies or bejeweled. Bleah. This game sucked.
Ps: I wouldn't trust any reviews that praise "the partnership of 2 development companies" (obviously they had the 2 companies write a ton of fake reviews) or reviews that praise the help file. Like wow it has help files! Give it 4 stars! Lol. What a joke. And addictive? anyone who plays this for more than a few minutes has issues. (one guy said he played for an hour and didn't stop except to write the review. Another locked himself in his room for 6 or 8 hours to play? Please. What total B S.)
Casual Gaming, Geo Style
This is fun, casual style game utlizing the cool graphics effects from the Geo series. It is a simple game (don't let two different shapes collide) but surprisingly effective. The hook is a higher personal best score as there are not levels to this game. As far as the complaints regarding lack if instructions, I think that is a bit over-blown. Watch the visual tutorial, play the game a few times and it seems pretty obvious. If there is a piece you've not seen before, click it and see what happens! Overall a very fun game to pick up and fill 5..10 minutes at a time. No, it's not Geo-defense Swarm, but it's not trying to fill that space.
Improvements: I'd like to see statistics shown after a game such as longest chain, highest combo score, etc. I think this would make the game have more re-play value. (the open-feint portion of the game has "achievements", not sure why they aren't more prevalant in-game).
note. i am new to the whole ipod app thing.
This may possibly be the most mindlessly addicting game app out there. It has been my crack ever since i discovered it 8 hours ago and no other app has gotten more then 6 min of attention since. It is hard to describe; the best i can do is: If the bubble popping (match colors of three or more together) game was to have an offspring with a classic space shooter from the 80s. The nasty basard would probably be something like this. It's basically a fast simple arcade type game and I have trouble imagening someone not becoming completely addicted to it. So if you like to, you know, do things with your life... probably should avoid this black hole of time. Eh.... actually, everyone should have it.
I give it an A+ (A in this case standing for "atrociously addicting "
