“Take photos with your digital camera and tag with GPS location data collected by your iPhone”
Ever wondered how to find photos you took few years ago at the Disney World? Have you wanted to look at photos based on places you have visited, but didn’t want to dig through your entire photo collection to find them? Organizing your photos by location, otherwise known as “geotagging,” allows you to be able to find any photo based on the location where it was taken.
However, most digital cameras are not GPS-enabled, so location information must be added after the fact. In order to use the “Places” feature in iPhoto 09, you’d have to input location for each photo manually.
The GeoTag app for iPhone and iPod Touch allows you to capture GPS location information for digital photos that are taken with your non-GPS digital camera. Using the free software GeoTag Deskop, you can later add the captured locations to your photos so that you can upload them, already tagged, to iPhoto 09 and Flickr.
There are two ways to collect location information with your iPhone: Automatic Collection and Collection by Photo Name (Manual Collection).
To collect locations automatically, just turn on the GeoTag when you take photos. That’s all – GeoTag will take care of the rest of work.
To collect locations by photo names, click the collect button on GeoTag when you take a photo. GeoTag will capture the specific GPS location for the photo by its name.

Replaces GPS Unit on D90! Amazing Developer!!
At first the desktop app would not overwrite the null GPS data that the D90 writes when the expensive attachment isn't installed. I emailed the developer and he got back to me within minutes and by the end of the day he had created an updated version of the app that works flawlessly! Now that's amazing service! So now this works with both my non-GPS cameras and my GPS capable Nikon D90, but I don't have to pay $200+ for a gps dongle. Just turn on GeoTag, make sure the date and time match, import the photos into geotag and then off to iphoto...a few minutes longer but well worth it! Highly recommended!
This is a worthless program if you are using a Mac. No manual, no way to access the pics, no way to do anything! Another example of these jokers trying to make a quick buck.....
The program doesn't read anything in iPhoto... This must be a PC version of a Mac app... So far my experience is that is does not work at all and I got beat for the $2.00 bucks. iTunes needs to have a refund program to get your money back for worthless apps like this... Why pay for things that absolutely don't work??? Please get a manual or a how to or something!!!!
This app needs more work
I can't believe this is version 1.1, it looks more like .1 to me! It is not that I was looking for more than is advertised, I just want what I paid for to work and it would be nice if the features/options were better documented. I wrote the author a nice letter outlining the problems over a week ago and no response. This is the time you wish there was a refund policy at the app store, not that $1.99 will make me go broke I just don't want reward bad apps.
